Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Such a pretentious knob....

For such a supposed reader, he seems to know next to fooking nothing when trying to broadcast and interview...

Pretentious is the word. Books mentioned in pretty much every link this morning, vomit inducing stuff. He nearly choked when the healthcare worker spoke about doing a 12 hour shift, a long time since Tubs did one of those. It's kindness and reading every day of the week.

Mark my words the toy show and all the crew will be coming from some far flung place this year. No expense will be spared

      Lapland.

It was mentioned a lot earlier than May!

Well he spends the 1st couple of months of a new year chatting about the previous Toy Show, then starts chatting about the next Toy Show around April, so they are usually a total of maybe 2 months when it isn't talked about.

No kindness from Bryan today? Who was the subject of his ridicule today? Trump? BoJo?

Quick question, why do you call him "Bryan"?

      Just curious is all.

Which two months were these? Where was I? Are these my feet? How did that gob****e get on the television?

Oh hi Aonghus, haven't seen you around here in a while, hope you're well? Nice of you to ask politely rather than hurling abuse and insults like you usually do.

Mr. Tubridy has mentioned more than once that when he's out and about members of the public say hello to him and compliment him on the amazing job he's doing and while he's grateful for same, they frequently call him "Bryan" which causes him a modicum of discomfort. So naturally I use it all the time now.

Thanks Butters. Been busy as an essential worker and all that.

I hardly ever listen, so I did not know that about Tubs.

I don't hurl abuse or insult anybody, public figure or not.

      Have a nice day.

gas thing is that it's mainly him who calls himself Toyman.

Sounds like some lunatic out of a horror film.

"let me show you my toys!"

      Eh, you're grand thanks.

That's the issue for me, if I thought it was something a child actually said then that's grand but I just don't believe a child ever said that and that text they 'received' was genuine.

Also the toyman lunatic signature move while he says 'let me show you my toys' would be the kinda finger gun pointing gesture he always does at people.

Did you know that if look in the mirror and say "Toyman" 3 times, Tubridy appears?

Callan is a far better presenter than the RTE "star" Tubbs.

Much more relaxed and seems to enjoy it,rather than Tubbs presenting style.

Which is an impersonation of a giddy 12 year old munching skittles in a sex education class.

Hilary Clinton does it loads actually after a speech, pointing at people and saying hello. I think it was some documentary about body language or something and the contributor was saying that it's just a ploy to make them seem more engaged with the great unwashed. They havnt a clue who they are pointing at or 'recognizing' in the crowd

Ricky Gervais does it in a comical fashion in his stand-up.

this show is so pointless, Its Ryan Tubridy must have a radio show because he is Ryan Tubridy, it doesn't have any other function.

Change the station lads. Not much point listening to a show you hate presented by a dude you despise. That’s a complete waste of your time. Plenty of choice out there.

That’s fair enough. It is an odd thing to do though. So much choice in the world and that’s how you choose to spend your hour in the morning. I suppose I just don’t get it is all.

I'd wager I listen to a lot more podcasts and radio than almost anyone on boards tbh, my post count would be reflective of this. Tubs is not really ever by choice, it's on in the background at work.

Not entirely true. I have penned many long-form pieces on Duffy in particular critiquing the show on boards. I have also repeatedly written to RTE and the BAI re. how the host has chosen to cover various topics on the show over the years, and how he has over-stepped the mark and shown clear and unambiguous bias and been incredibly unprofessional on many occasions. I have asked one of the show's Producers (on boards btw but I won't reveal his username) to debate the "standards" (or rather lack thereof) of the show with me, promising that I would only to stick to the facts and not engage in any slagging or mockery etc. That producer has refused to do so.

Do I slag Mr. Duffy? Yes, it's impossible not to given his output and outrageous fee arrangement.
