Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm in Lidl multiple times a week but I never get any of the money off scratch card prizes, I wonder if you have to be doing a big family shop to get them?

I've got regardless of what I was buying and sometimes I'm only spending a few quid.

I looked at the receipts (handy that) and my last scratch card wins were rich tea, jellies, seed mix, 50c off

    I'd boycott the place :pac:

Rich Tea biscuits on the scratch card for me too.

I did get the €1 last time though.

I'd say ring customer service that doesn't sound right, I get them every 3 days

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,672 ✭✭✭obi604

Did my first lidl plus yesterday.
Did scratch and win and got a pack of biscuits.

Have to activate this it seems

Then next time I shop and scan Lidl plus, When I buy them, I presume It just takes them off the bill is it.

    Obi604, yes exactly this

mmmm, ok, seems a very manual process, having to individually pick each item you want a discount on, id thought if you have the app, it would just discount any stuff you buy thats applicable.

Well it allows you to control what coupons you wanna use and when. It takes 2 seconds and gives u control. Brilliant I think!

  • Registered Users Posts: 71 ✭✭mary_a2020

    obi604 wrote: »
lets say you never go in and activate these coupons, is it worth anything to you at all then?

yeah big time. The coupons are only part of it... the digital receipt is class and I see other countries have really good offers from other companies too hopefully that comes to Ireland too

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 11,645 Mod ✭✭✭✭igCorcaigh

I would assume the reason for the manual activation process is to explicitly draw your attention to the products so that you then actively seek them out, increasing the chances of a purchase.

Otherwise, people may not bother looking at the app at all.

I could be wrong of course.

This app is great. How many store's have to manually change prices on the display. Now Lidl can use the app without having to get a worker to print off new prices ect.

Anyway i made a noob mistake of shopping 71 Hours after the last time. Got no scratch card. But the savings on the product's is good.

You could just activate them all as soon as you get them. If you don't use them they stay activated untill they expire. Pretty simple.

    Not true

If they change something on an offer it deactivates. This happens pretty often, like adding or removing a 2nd product. You've to activate again or no discount.

Didnt Lidl used to do cheap hotel breaks? Not sure if they still do but it would be good if they showed up in the app

yeah I made that rookie mistake when it first came out. iirc I was 7 minutes short of the 72 hours and I missed out on a euro off, the fume!

Otherwise I was in yesterday and got the ice creams, free bubbly chocolate bar and OJ. But I completely forgot about the 99c offers they had on, meant to get the two soya sauces, worchestershire sauce and tube of Colgate but walked out without even thinking of them  They'll likely be gone when Im back again next Thursday or Friday

None here either and sold out of the sweet potato wedges. The receipt is often there before I'm in the car, but I've had one not show up for half a day.

signed up for it and went to do a weekly shop. Didn't get the €5 off first shop. another household member has signed up. seemed a bit mean. I'll head back to tesco next time

That promotion expired, make sure you read dates on offers, and in the app it would have shown up as a qpon you would need to activate anyway.

I find they restock most days. There was still kinder buenos in my local store today. The kinder surprises (3 x Kinder eggs) were on my app too before I got the kinder buenos but around in the sweets aisle (away from the offers stand) where there were more kinder buenos.

They prob added the kinder surprise if stores did sell out of the buenos.

I won a pack of rich tea biscuits from the scratch and win card. Unfortunately no one in the house eats it so I haven't bothered to get it.

I love this app though. I love the fact you can get a digital recipit. Saves the paper building up in my purse!

Was in Lidl on the 12th. Got the scratch card for the chocolate bubbly bars.

Went back on the 16th for a few bits and redeemed the bubbly bars. No scratch card given.

Went back on 19th. Spent a few bob. No scratch card given.

    What gives?

I was told you were supposed to spend over a certain amount then I was told it really only works once a week so I've honestly no idea how it works

I use the app to do my weekly shopping that saves me from going in every couple of days and I get the scratch card so I'm presuming it's a once a week thing but correct me if I'm wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,996 ✭✭✭✭zell12

    It's every 72 hours. Again.

Sounds like you need to ring customer service and get them to fix your account

Its explained on their website and its very straightforward really. You get one every time you shop, provided there is 72 hours between your transactions. Simples.

If you're not getting them when u should, ring their customer services and get them to check your account.

So using my example, if you pop in every 48 hours or so, you'll never get a scratchcard?

Edit - actually forget it! :D

Last few times I checked the app I decided it wasn't worth my while going in to get the offers.

this is it, I know some of you love the app and the clever marketing and the digital receipt , but I personally think its a bit of a pain. Then, I think of my sister that sometimes has to go shopping with 2 kids, its a chore and hard to do with 2 kids anyway, but then having to mess around with an app every time you go in etc

as Jeff says, hardly worth the time

    Just my opinion

Or pop them in the Foodcloud collection trolley on the way out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 508 ✭✭✭Sesame

The last two scratch cards wins I had, the sweets and yesterday, the rich tea biscuits, were not in stock when I went to add them to my basket. Its only a small thing, but disappointing that I'd go to the bother of using the app, scratching the prize, remembering to pick them up in next shop and then not being able to.

In your case, you should be getting them every second transaction.

You should get a scratch card after the first transaction you make that is at least 72 hours since the last transaction you received a scratch card after.

Had the beef medallions from the previous round of offers, very meh and I wouldnt buy them again for 1.99 dont mind 3.99. Not sure what part of the cow they came from to deserve the name medallions but my sharp steak knife was having trouble cutting through them.
