Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There will be no restrictions on using the SIM card for a Wifi hotspot. However, after the 80GB monthly data limit is reached, the data speeds will slow.

That's good because I'm with Lycamobile now and use it all the time as a WiFi hotspot.

Am I right to say that it's your card that's debited every month as opposed to a traditional direct debit? At least with DD you can notify the company you're cancelling and then stop the DD on your end.

That will make cancelling the service that bit harder - last time I cancelled a service where my card was debited monthly they 'forgot' to cancel the billing on their end. Took a long time to get the money back.

I hope I'm wrong as I'm tempted to switch!

My signal seems fine anyway. I've been in Wexford, Dublin, and Portlaoise with it.

So I intend to sign up 3 family members after I get my sim and my plan original was to order the sims on November 1st. That would mean my net payment or December 1st.
But I read now that billing date is 1st each month and Payment is taken 7 days later.
So do you guys think that if I pay for 3 sims on November 1st that they will take a further €30 in November 8th? That would be €60 before any of their sims arrive and the way they’re processing at the moment I could be fight up to a third Payment by the time the sims actually arrived.

Or if I order on the 1st would the first actual bill issue December 8th?

Not that I'm aware of! You do have more minutes available than there are in a month, and data is throttled if you exceed the 80gb, you won't be charged extra.

I haven't received my card yet so this is just a guess but I'd imagine you can track your usage by logging into your online account. I have no doubt that eventually there will be an app to make it easier

That 085 ..... number is the new sim number - I still don't know which of my existing numbers that relates to.

I'm tempted to just put it in one of the phones but I don't want to lose contacts etc

Hey, so my parents numbers are due to port tomorrow. They are on a multi-line bill pay account with three and the contract is up. I was wondering though if I put in the Parent number which is at the top of the bill, or the account number which is different next to both of their numbers. Contacted support for gomo and they didn't know what I was on about!

I read somewhere that the information is on the package outside label. I don't know whether you received the SIMs in separate packages or not.

I did but both of them have the same number on them though one is 83 and the other is 083 - my two numbers are 083 and 087. An hour later and still no online chat.

Dial 171 and set up your mailbox , you will have to set up a pin and your Voicemail messages.

No 3G or 4G with my Xiaomi Mi 9I after switching to GoMo Ireland from Tesco.
I was with Tesco mobile and 3G and 4G worked fine on the phone with them.
I tried the GoMo SIM in another phone and it worked fine in it.
I can make and receive calls and send and receive messages on the GoMo network.
I have reset the APN and still no internet and I have tried putting in the APN manually, still no internet.
I have been in touch with GoMo support through Facebook DM but they are obviously very busy and slow to get back to me.
Anyone any ideas on how I can resolve this?

I'd recommend a full reset of your phones network settings, then reboot your device and test again. Tesco use 3 Irelands network, which is the same frequency as Eir / GoMo so it should work the exact same as before.

Got sim at 4pm. Set porting time to 4:10.

Phone needed a restart but everything over in a couple of minutes and 25/5 mbit speeds in Dublin centre.

Did have to collect it and sign for it.

You have the settings correct but is the apn selected? I know it sounds silly but it can catch people out.

When you are in the menu that shows the 2 apns make sure it has the data one selected.

Apologies if this question has been answered, I don't see it on the front page of Q&A.

I cross the border quite often.

Can I use it in NI and roam freely? Use my inclusive mins/text/data?

I assume after Brexit it may change!

As long as northern ire is part of the EU you can. Roaming data limited to 10gig but all the calls & texts you like

Folks, just a quick note to update you on my lack of network connectivity.
GoMo washed there hand of me, just said it was my phone even thou 4G was working on another network without issue
So to take matters into my own hands I done a factory reset and wiped it clean.
I had it backed up and after it came back I could see the 4G was coming on.
I done a restore and after that the 4G was gone again.
Done an other reset and now the 4G is working again and I am reloading everything individually.
    its going to be slow.

Thanks to all you guys for all the help and suggestion, its much appreciated

Ordered 4 cards a few days ago & the only one to arrive so far is my sons one. I popped it into my dual sim phone. My Virgin card got 7.99 Mbps download & 4.65 upload on 4G. The GoMo is getting average 37.3 Mbps download & 9.84 upload. One test actually got over 50Mbps download.

I'm looking forward to getting my own sim next week now.

Received, placed in router, works out of the box, but unimpressed.

SpeedTest.net, same router, same client device, 2 minutes apart (Router Restart Time).

    kB/s in all fields.

    3 Mobile : 1,182 Down; 1,034 Up
    GoMo: 469 Down; 745 Up.

So, yeah, check your locale's speeds before porting/cancelling existing sims or numbers.

Folks im not very good at phones,so apologise if im asking a silly question.

Im with Vodafone pay as you go and thinking of taking up this offer but im wondering if the unlimited texts, calls, are to any network?

Also if i decide to leave Vodafone(its a pay as you go plan ,top up every month)can i just leave and say nothing with no penalties?

And finally is the payment taken directly from my card automatically or am i sent a monthly bill by email and i go to their website and log in and pay using the registered card?

    Thanks.

All the information is in their site.

It's unlimited calls and texts to Irish landlines and mobiles.

On pay as you go you can just leave anytime.

The card payment will be automatic each month.

Unlimited calls/texts to any network. 80G of 4G data.

I just left Lycamobile, paying 15e in advance ever month. Didn't say nuthin to them. I cancelled my auto renew and ported my number on Friday the same day my Lyca bundle was expiring anyway.

Just 9.99 has been taken from my card so far. I presume my first month's bill will come at the beginning of the month.

Not sure I follow you but 9.99 was taken from my card when I signed up. My understanding is this will cover me until November 1st when another 9.99 will be taken to cover that month.

I get you now. It's PAYG so payment is needed in advance. Otherwise you are talking about bill pay. Same thing different day :D
