It used to be more the case that players in Munster and Connacht stayed with their clubs all through age grade rugby to senior rugby, but this trend has changed in recent years a lot I would say. Some players have been brought into the academies and changed teams in recent years, G Lyons Shannon/Young Mun, Jack Cullen Bruff/Shannon, JOD waterpark/UL Bohs just as a few examples, they do not always stay at the same club. It would be more relevant to Connacht, but in reality the three teams mentioned Corinthians, Buccs and Wegians are the only options and sadly with Corinthians going down from 1B last year, you only have two clubs in the whole province to choose from, as you rightly say, very limited.

Does that mean there are a load of Corinthians players on the move this year? Any idea which of the other 2 they have moved to?

I imagine Wegians would get the cream of the crop

I wonder if the rumours about Ruddock coaching a schools team this year are true.

I heard this a while back and from the same person that said mcnamara was taking over UCD. Got that right, but I've heard nothing since. Big jump from schools to AIL even with Irish 18's experience. Some start with 'tarf first up!

Cullen is an exile and didn't play any of his age grade rugby in Ireland so is slightly different to Jacko, Lyons etc.
Jack O Donoghue moved as Waterpark were, by the time Jack O was playing/able to play adult rugby, a junior club. Much more in Munster do stay with the same club. The trend of players staying with the same club hasn't changed a lot in recent years. Yes there is some examples but its largely true...

Tyrone Moran signed for London Scottish, was just announced on their website. I imagine Lansdowne will be need a replacement. Joseph McSwiney and Conor McKeon have also left so I imagine they'll need to sign a few if they want to go back to back.

Old Belvedere have signed Rossiter and Staunton.

Lansdowne have signed Matt Darcy from St Marys

Terenure have signed a few UCD players for the coming season - Eoin Joyce, Adam Clarkin, Risteard Byrne and Kieran Moloney.

    Any news for Clontarf?

So Lansdowne are certainly well provided for scrum-halves with Griggs, O'Driscoll and now Darcy.

Will anyone be catching any Leinster League games ? Some good fixtures in next three weeks with Lansdowne vs Old Belevere, UCD vs Clontarf and Terenure vs St. Mary's.

I will be going to a Connacht League game or two and a Limerick Charity Cup game or two if I can. May make one or two Leinster league games as well. Nenagh played Tullamore Friday night according to twitter. There was a game or two in Limerick as well I think..

Pitch is progressing well down at Clontarf. I'm told the guys are ahead of schedule too - I presume the mostly clear weather is helping.

Saw some of Trinity Naas at weekend. Trinity deserved winners in decent enough game
Leinster Senior League Cup – Section A:
    Old Wesley 31 Skerries 13

Leinster Senior League Cup – Section B:
    Lansdowne 22 Old Belvedere 28
Blackrock College 28 MU Barnhall 18

Leinster Senior League Cup – Section C:
St Marys College 17 Terenure College 23
    Naas 20 Dublin University 28

Leinster Senior League Shield – Section A:
    Greystones 25 Navan 21
    Boyne 9 Bective Rangers 32

Leinster Senior League Shield – Section B:
    Tullamore 0 Wanderers 18
    Dundalk 10 Seapoint 10

    Senior League 2015/16:
    Sligo 25, Corinthians 19
    Buccaneers 73, Galwegians 17

Huge win for Buccs. Wegians clearly didn't field a fairly full strength side... but still huge win and great boost ahead of 1B season.
Limerick Charity Cup opening round to be played over next few days

Bohs beat Bruff 26-13 in LCC quarter tonight

    What were Naas like?

Heard rumours that Johne Murphy is with them at the moment?

hey were not great. Its not a rumour about Johne Murphy. He is In their coaching set up.
Naas were only alright. Will do ok in 2A this season but will be a bottom half side IMO

Surprised at that result. Were you at the game? Any new players for either side? Were Crescent good or Shannon poor? Either side near full strength??

Shannon didn't have a full strength side ,a lot of new youngsters ,they got two late try's but Crescent about deserved the win

    teams named here:

    http://www.limerickleader.ie/sport/limerick-sport/old-crescent-shock-shannon-in-limerick-charity-cup-1-6924202

Frank Bradshaw Ryan, Kelvin Browne, Hugh Kelliher, Jack Cullen, Stephen Fitz, Greg O'Shea were all missing from Shannon, however most of the backs would have played UBL last season, the back 5 were definitely missing a few though but those who played would have had a Munster Junior Cup and Seconds League medals from last season so would have expected Shannon to win.

How many of those will be playing AIL this season most weeks? Fitz, O Shea yes. Cullen wont if Davy is captain. Playing in and winning a Munster junior cup is a great achievement but playing against likes GQMcD, Brendan Guilfoyle is fairly different from the challenges posed by teams in MJC....

Still think they should have had enough to put away a team 3 divisions below them, Marcus will be worried at that result especially with the league coming fast.

Wouldn't say Marcus would be that worried.
Crescent may be several divisions below but Shannon missing a few wouldn't help. They don't have such great strength in depth that they would be comfortably be able to defeat sides like Crescent etc in games like this....

Cork Charity Cup to be played Saturday. Leinster League Cup/Shield continue and there is games in Connacht and Ulster leagues as well... so most senior sides should have a game this weekend....

That's a really good result for Old Wesley - bodes well for their 1B league. Blackrock looking pretty competitive as well.

Rock mixed up their team from the Barnhall game. Bit more depth this year. Probably see where they are at after their game with Lansdowne

Lansdowne try last play as well. Rock are looking strong this year. There seems to be strength in depth which hasn't been there in a long time.
