Anyone else heard whispers of a covid cluster associated with Knockmore's club victory? Surprised it hasn't got into the media if true.

Actually my dad said it to me last week that he had heard it but hadn't heard it from anyone else. Now my dad is heavily involved in The GAA at home so I'd imagine there is some smoke.

The county final was sept 20th, two weeks after that the county cases were less than 10 a day so likely just talk

I believe there were no Knockmore players in the matchday squad for the Galway game. I understand Kevin McLoughlin's wife was due to give birth round that time but don't know if anyone else would have been expected to be there.

According to one of the podcasts, either mayo news or ah ref Darren McHale is on the panel and Aidan Orme declined the offer

    Darren McHale is working away

Precedent set by Offaly during the week
All players were declared close contacts.......

Would it not be the NHS dealing with it? But then the game is in Mayo, not sure how that would work it...

Offaly must have been breaking the guidelines somehow for so many to be close contacts. Roscommon had a positive case and it was only the ones who travelled on the bus to Armagh that were deemed close contacts.

If Tyrone were doing things right there may not be anyone else absent.

Here's hoping there's an end to this biblical scale deluge of rain.

All concerned deserve a decent autumnal day.

Soft pitch won't suit our lads and we all know what MacHale park is like at the best of times.

    Not too much sanding either.

I've recurring nightmares of our beating at the hands of the Red Hand county on a hardly playable Saharan like pitch not that many moons ago.

Not sure what Offaly was at but training is classed as casual contact instead of close contact.

Michael Fennelly, the Offaly manager was on Off The Ball and he said they have no idea why they were all considered close contacts and that it hasn't been explained to them but that they won't be asking. Decision wasn't going to be changed.

He must know more. Why wouldn't he ask? You would have to ask to avoid the same thing happening in 3 weeks. Not buying that they didn't ask.

Said that the HSE is busy enough with real life. I do agree that something happened, sire it'll come out in the wash at some stage.

You reckon they went on a drinking session or did something else naughty and don't want to admit to in public?

I have no idea. However, in this scenario, it is logical to ask why they are deemed close contacts. Otherwise, they will just end up repeating the same mistake in a few weeks time.

How can Tyrone not have named a team 3 hours before throw in?
There is no Covid case, this is mind games

    Official rulebook of the GAA

    6.36 (c)

A prescribed Team List (as issued by the Committee-in-
Charge from time to time), confirming the 15 starting
players and maximum 11 additional panel members,
shall be submitted to the Referee not later than forty
minutes before the official starting times of the Game.

That twitter post did not emanate from Tyrone GAA?

It is bizarre nonetheless that there's no team named at this stage.

No match programmes to worry about for today.:(

I actually though it was the day before so thanks for that.
It's very unusual though, there is ni doubt in my mind the covid case is a ruse.
Think about it,it was only reported on one relatively obscure site and then no official reference or even commented on after that.Compare that to recent covid incidents in Offaly,Roscommon,Leitrim, fermanagh and many others,it doesnt add up.

I just can’t let myself believe that any amateur team manager would purposely leak a fake Covid positive case to try and gain an edge for a league game or any game for that matter .

Huge boost Harte's return from injury.

Mattie Donnelly is their outstanding footballer.

Cathal Mc Shane their talisman in the forwards is injured.

Rory Brennan suspended for his infringement last weekend.

Padraig Hampsey is a good footballer.

Lee Brennan, Kyle Coney are other notables.

Of course no members of the Kavanagh clan in the squad in God knows how long.

Mc Kenna will be a handful.
