Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Fabrizio Zanotti @ 80/1

    Travellers Championship
    Camilo Villegas @ 100/1
    Ryo Ishikawa @ 150/1

After the Pro Am yesterday I've gone for 3 golfers in the Irish Open:

    All E/W 6 places

    Matteo Maneserro - 60/1
    Rafa Cabrera - Bello - 33/1
    Paul Casey - 20/1

Added Bradley and DJ in the Travelers.

Horror show for Rory, hate to have took him at 3/1!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Pilsbury Doughboy

Well that's fairly annoying, Oosthuizen withdrew on me, I checked on my phone and saw he withdrew but didn't know until now that he did start the tourney, what a waste!

After watching the US golf last night and seeing what Sergio done on the front 9, all pars and then the back 9 with 6 birdies and 1 bogey I thought he was great value at 10/1

Any obvious reason why gareth maybin at 4 shots off leader is not good value @66s for a bit of each way?

Well he missed the cut last year too. It's position on the calendar is what will cause there to be a weak field. A few Irish performing strongly and a few big names near the top of the leaderboard. It should be a great weekend for anyone attending. Would love to be down there following Harro this weekend.

Had a small punt on Maybin @ 66/1 as mentioned above. I still have Zanotti within a few shots so hoping for a good day today.

I was so close to backing McDowell (till I read his pre-tourney press conference re: his driving) and Casey (till I remembered how much he's disappointed me this year the few times I've on him). Quite miffed. Oh well.

Was a pleasure to be in Fota today. Was literally 5 feet away from Wattel when he was in the woods on 4th.

I say nearly 90% of Golfers were playing draws off the tee, Howell one of the few who did not, beautiful flights on some shots. Great to watch.

Going stay away from betting. I feel McDowell is trying too hard at minute.

Reckon a outsider could spring a number.

You get to see much of Ilonen? Hows his game looking under pressure?

Was surprised how relaxed and calm he looked and his body language was giving this away. Even bogey on 10(i think) he still looked very calm when he let putt roll pat few feet.

My only concern might be somebody from 4-5 shots behind going low.

    Good chance though.

I am thinking if he shoots 4 under it should be enough to win it, its nice to have sweat either way

Well done to winners this week.

I'm all over SNEDEKER at 25/1 this week in America. Think he is finally coming back to his best and has a good record here. It could be a turning point in his season. I'll be having a decent bet. I think he is fantastic value and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a few shots clear on Sunday morning.

I'll have an interest in ROSS FISHER at 40/1 in Europe. A slight improvement on his last performance on this course would see him contend. He's long and is playing nice and steady this season.

I haven't had as much as a glance at the fields yet for this week so there will be minimal research done.

Any fancy giving their reasoning why Snedeker appears so popular? I might follow blindly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    Speith 14/1 win only
    Haas 28/1ew
    Horschel 40/1 ew
    Stallings and Mackenzie 200/1ew

    Gl all

I've had to back DAY even though I'm not happy with the price. He is on the brink.

    Record at Congressional -

    2009 - Tied 5th
    2010 - Tied 16th
    2011 - Tied 17th
    2012 - DNP
    2013 - Tied 8th

So not a bad record and he seems to be slowly coming back to last years competitive form.

I have backed him EW but there might be more logic to a win only as he needs to put together 4 goods rounds, which has been a problem, but if he does then he is good value at 25/1.

I was a big Snedeker fan for years but he usually struggled when in contention but last year he put all that to bed. Now when he gets in contention he knows what to do. Hopefully.

    Brendan Todd 33/1
    Y.E Yang 250/1
    KJ Choi 40/1

backed larrazabal and jacobsen last night at 66s+14s

delighted with larrazabal today, didnt expect that

had my biggest ever golf win on these two when they
won these events three years ago, only reason for backing them last nite

stuck them in an each way double, both at 20/1, pablo was finished
round one and freddie was bout half way thru his round when
    I placed it
    havent come close since

Ha, and I just realised Freddie my bet last week is only 2 shots off the lead with 18 to go :pac:

Hopefully Mahan can go low, only 6 shots behind, so can place E/W least even if scoring is tough. Larrazabal just needs to shot a similar round to today you'd think, but some of the scores out there including his on Friday are somewhat concerning. Stenson not far back.

Wait, I'm confused here. Two tee start is it?

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

    Crappy finish.

    Stenson loses in a playoff.

Larrazabal implodes, but does well to scramble to a even par finish to miss out on a E/W place by a single shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

anyone know what price larraz was at start of play

was sure tee times were later so didnt get a chance to lay some off

I have Charley Hoffman & Carl Petterson Each Way 66/1

Also Snedeker @ 25/1 win only

Looks like place money for Hoffman, a miracle nearly occurred with him getting in a playoff until Rose made a good putt on the last! Haven't watched much of it this week, that's one tough course though! Up to Stefani now on the 18th!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 913 ✭✭✭tomaussie

Rather than picking somebody on the PGA Tour this week I think it's a case of picking reasons as to why you should NOT back JIMMY WALKER. The 12/1 available is skimpy but I'd prefer a 12/1 winner than a 33/1 also ran.

In Europe I'm going with JOOST LUITEN at 28/1 (30's in places).

Singles and the hopeful EW double again.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

    Greenbrier Classic:

    1) Brendon Todd @ 25/1
    2) Keegan Bradley @ 33/1
    3) Jonas Blixt @ 66/1

    Open de France:

    1) Joost Luiten @ 30/1
    2) Simon Dyson @ 45/1
    3) Gregory Havret @ 100/1

    Cameron Tringale 100/1 E.W
    Scott Stallings 125/1 E.W

That's all I have so far, not the most inspiring field this week, I'm pondering Bradley and De Jonge at the moment , dunno if I will pull the trigger though!
