Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I always use the full site on the mobile so I forget that you don't see locations on the touch site.
    Edited now.

Yes quite a squally shower afew mintues ago in Galway...looking at the satellite images they are only getting going with much bigger showers on the way...they will be quite lively if the first showers are anything to go by...

Serious hail in Westport. The showers are heavy and very squally.

I'm practically in the midlands sure.
Seriously though, it's a wide county where the weather varies alot due in no small part to the lovely Atlantic.

Chance increases through the early hours. After 3 am showers will be wintry at that stage and i'd expect snow showers by the commute.:pac:

Knock Airport, recent snow, and so it begins

It was sleet that fell, not snow. Synop code 26 was reported ("Recent rain and snow showers"). The met.ie site always reports this as Recent Snow.

That's disappointing given its height. Is it the case that these forecast tend to be conservative, if not that's bad news for lower ground.

I think this quite optimistic chart deserves a mention :P

It's less than 24 hours out, but I'd still take this with a big pinch of snow salt.

Looks impressive,Init, but I'm highly dubious , especially at the immediate coast, cant foresee accumulations at the immediate coast,in what I call 'slosh' a fluctuating combination of hail, sleet and wet snow that won't accumulate.

Gosh,I feel like gaoth Laidir pissing all over the GFS snow charts.

Pretty heavy rain shower in South Dublin at the moment, 4.1c.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,918 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

4.0c here in North Dublin. DP has fallen from 3.3 to 2.4c in the past hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,221 ✭✭✭pad199207

    4.4c in N kildare

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,918 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

    DP down to 2.0c...

The snow level will be dropping.

Over Ulster showers increasingly of sleet are turning more to mix of wet snow. Already snowfall over high ground.

    Same in Connaught.

We have a few hours to go yet...but getting there
