Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

https://www.akishop.jp would be the cheapest bet, and have the best selection. :)

Took mine 2 and a half weeks to arrive from the date I ordered this month.

If you want them sooner then www.arcadeshop.de comes to a total €27.37 incl postage.

Are you not tempted to upgrade the joystick also?

I asked Akishop to mark the package s gift, and when it came the value was marked at only 19 dollars.

I'm not really having any trouble with the joystick yet, I may order a new one another time, but my buttons are starting to feel bad and I had a go of my mates TE with sanwa parts the other day and it felt ten times better.

    What's the go-to one for fighters ? LS32 ?

I think the sanwa JLF 8 is more popular amongst fighters.

The LS32 has a shorter throw.

So its down to personal preference really.

Either of them should be a big improvement.

Can't say much else as I'm waiting on screws to arrive for my LS-32. :(

Shorter throw meaning the stick has a small circumference when you put it corner to corner , or shorter stick vertically?

Yep a shorter circumference. The stick is also shorter vertically!

Holy ****, great show! but boy, go easy on the "catchphrases" and ****!

Yeah, it is one of the most exciting and funny shows to watch on youtube for retro gamers and such but all the meme repeating (alriiiight), catchphrasing ("I just had to have it", "that just the way ga..." blah blah blah)has been getting on my nerves lately. Anyone else?

Did you mean to post this in The Game Chasers thread?

I must watch that latest episode actually.

Best joystick, right now, is the Hori Hayabusa, but I would also highly rate the Seimitsu LS-40 + LS-56/58.

    Personally I loathe the JLF.

Always see lots of people here have Naomi cabs which is cool, but I've always wondered does anyone here have a sit down driving machine for instance or a time crisis cab? I remember seeing two or three different driving cabs a few months back (outrun, Daytona 2 etc) wondering did they go for home use or not.

have you any other arcade games?
If I was getting one I'd look for the most flexible machine so you could at least have 2 games!

No I've no machines at all. Looking out but can never find anything.

I've never owned a driver/shooter but I'd imagine they could go stale fast in a small collection.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,886 ✭✭✭Steve X2

I've a Point Blank as well as a Ridge Race(upright). They're great fun, but there is only so much time you can spend on them before you want to play something else.
Having a general/multi game machine is a must I think before you go getting something like a shooter or driver.

But then again, everyone is different.

Point Blank is a dream cab for me!
Every time they come up tho I'm not in a position to buy .
Ever look into getting PB2 in the cab?

Yeah I did look into it, and plan on doing it at some stage if I can find the pcb. It's a massive yolk though as I have one of the bigger versions of the cab. It certainly has a presence in whatever room it sits :)

Touring Car would be good but I'd probably gut it and put in a PC and make it a dedicated driving mame machine, Scud Racer, Daytona, Ridge Racer etc.

    Outrun?

That would work very well id say.
    Cheap enough for €200

Everything else seems to be huge money at the moment.

None of those games emulate particularly well.

They certainly stand out anyway. Not sure about that testicle textured one on the end though. :P

They for the candy Steve or a bartop or something?

Haven't turned my cab on in a long time now, although any time I walk past it I give the stick a quick flick (;)). Just so it doesn't think it's been forgotten. :o

    They're for...... Dunno :)
Prob try them on a few things and see how they look. I've a bartop they might look good on, but maybe a waste to use them on that.

Anyone use an LCD for a marquee yet?

The idea has been around for a while but thought the LCD would be cheaper by now.
16:3 ratio for your Mame cab, scrolls through the marquees as you play/select each game.

    This is a 19" version.
    http://www.litemax.com/PD_Products_Detail_51_141_2303_US_utf-8.html#.Val09flVhHw

There are 22" and 25" versions. Doesnt have to be that make/model.

    http://youtu.be/AAmAkXXEqwE

Anyone know where to get one?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,225 ✭✭✭airmax87

We should get a kickstarter to replace every public mame cab's sticks in Ireland, and we as a country, will finally be able to hold down back.
