Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

66 unique noms, which means we have enough to do a 64 Movie tournament.

Will leave the Nominations processed opened until Friday afternoon, do a bit of thinkering on the weekend and start Round 1 of the knock outs on Monday.

    Is there seeding?????

I won't nominate anything but I might dip in and out for the voting!

Incidentally, I don't know if it has been done before, but maybe a link to this could be put up on the Films forum. Just a thought!

So loads of people with no interest in Christmas can vote for die hard?

Fair enough if the mods go for it but IMO it'll dilute the vote from in here and skew it.

Rule 3. Movies are ranked/seeded by number of nominations and the box office takings.

The snowman falls under a TV Special do you can nominate that for the TV Special tournament,

The Long Kiss Goodnight, is that a Christmas movie?

    Welcome nightie! :)

Just nominate your 6 favourite Christmas films and then wait with baited breath as they are ranked according to nominations and box office shenanigans, then we narrow down films and we battle it out in the knockout rounds. :D

I have a couple of ones, that if they don't make it to at least the semi's then some hands are going to be thrown (virtually of course!)

Right with 76 Noms, it's time to close the nomination process. We will start the playoffs on the weekend/Monday to bring the 76 to 64 and then we will start Round 1.

Also I nominated The Family Stone on the basis it wasn't nominated yet and to bring us to the 76 :)

Good Morning, what's the best way to cheer up a gloomy Monday morning....

To make Christmas movies battle to the death!!

It's time to kick off with the playoffs.

18 Movies enter the playoffs but only 6 can advance. We will have 6 matchups of 3 movies battling it out.

These movies have only had one nomination each and are all either streaming exclusives or straight to video releases.

    First up we have;

    A Christmas Prince

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7608418/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
When a reporter goes undercover as a tutor to get the inside scoop on a playboy prince, she gets tangled in some royal intrigue and ends up finding love - but will she be able to keep up her lie?

    Vs.

    The Knight Before Christmas

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10060094/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
A medieval English knight is magically transported to present-day America where he falls for a high school science teacher who is disillusioned by love.

    Vs.

    The Princess Switch

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8954732/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3
Competing in a Christmas baking competition in Belgravia, a Chicago baker bumps into the prince's fiancée--who looks just like her. They switch lives for two days.

It's a battle of Netflix and Vanessa Hudgens it seems, first to 4 advances to the last 64.

I'll be staying away from these ones where I haven't actually seen the films, at least with the songs I could give them a listen, thats not gonna happen with films so it wouldn't be fair to vote in those circumstances IMO.

Not familiar with these 3 movies either so I'll stay clear of the voting process for this one too, there will be a couple in the playoffs you will recognise so hang on for them.
