From professional experience I can count on 1 hand the number of paternal applications to be removed from a birth certificate over the last 5/6 yrs, that I've heard about.
Now granted that would be 2nd hand as I don't do family law but briefs do tend to talk shop.
So I'd be very curious to know what his justification is.

I dunno but in "my day" if one of the lads was "not getting any" it certainly was not a term of abuse or ridicule. You just tried harder or put it down to a good old fashioned "barren spell" and went for the old "any port in a storm" motto. Like a striker who is struggling for confidence up front. Keep plugging away.

I guess I am going to have to Google this later. Jaysus this is hurting my head.

----mostly due to removal of father's details as it was proven the name registered was not that of the actual biological father, cases where the identity of parents needed to be regularised under Irish law, or where other elements needed correction.

There was also a small number of late registrations and according to the report: "There was also an upswing in applications to regularise birth records in the run-up to and following the UK's decision to exit the European Union following the referendum in June 2016."

The corrections are the total of the above, not just when the naughty women were lying wenches.

So when a father was added to a birth cert, where there mistakes in the name of either parent, where the parents identity wasn't clear, nationality issues or some other corrections as well as the deceiving wench scenario.

Not that any lying deceiving wench scenario at all is acceptable, just that it's not quite the doomsday scenario painted in the OP. Would be interesting to see a breakdown all the same.

The OP removed all that context when he cut the paragraph short so it looked like there was only one explanation.

It's easier to blame the world, your upbringing, the opposite gender, "successful" Alphas (Not that I know what one of them is ;) ) it's all about external blame when perhaps a little introspection and self improvement might go a long way to turning round.

    ITS F*CKING BALLIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    http://www.welfare.ie/en/downloads/GROAnnualReport-2018.pdf
In addition to the corrections noted in Table 4, 264 additional birth records were
amended following a statutory enquiry conducted under section 65 of the Civil
Registration Act 2004. Statutory enquiries are undertaken where an error, omission or
other difficulty with a registration is identified which cannot be corrected under any other
provision of the Act. The following types of cases accounted for the majority of the
    matters determined:
 Applications to remove the father’s details as it was proven that the man
    registered as the father was not the biological father of the child;
     Cases where the identity of the parents requires to be regularised under Irish law;
    and
 Where the registration particulars, typically historic, require correction.

    FAKE F**KING NEWS!!!

264 amendments were needed divided among those last 3 points!

MOD's can this be locked please, before I die of anymore embarrassment?

I was thinking just the same earlier.

What the hell is all this "incel" about? Is it what we called a frustrated "can't get any" lad in the old days? All a bit juvenile.

So basically it is a term of abuse?

No....There's a nuance there you see.... They are involuntary celibates BUT its not their fault... Its more a case of the world conspiring against them.

Pretty, popular girls, or as they call them "Stacys", don't appreciate their intelligence, particular personalities and suave charms.

Guys that get girls are "Chads" who are beneath their contempt.

The target females are routinely duped into voluntarily partaking in sexual activity by these evil Chads and it all just escalates from there into a maelstrom of discontent and outward looking accusatory loathing.

Critically introspection never plays a role here. This is key.

This is a real thing and it can unfortunately escalate - Elliot Rodger is a case worth reading about https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43892189

    Ugh.

Its a sad reflection of the world that the presentation of news and "facts" is as much driven by agenda as the actual facts presented.

The presentation of that article tried very much to direct a line of thinking without any actual evidence to support its main thesis.

Look, i will say this for you.
You tried to track the data the journalist relied on, when it was spurious you tracked down the source data and you owned your mistake.
I mean after you went and struck through your O.P rather than deleting it, I went back and clicked thanks on it.

All news is IMO at least presented through the lens of what those providing want to direct your thinking towards.
Where that gets scary is when those directing the news cycle are far cleverer than we in all our liberal openness like to think we are.

Fun fact, the person who originally started the incel label and community was a woman, it was a college society/support group.

She got disillusioned by it, felt it was attracting toxic people and that it was actually enabling people to wallow and be totally resigned to their situation. Walked away from it and assumed it would just die off naturally, didn't give it much more thought.

Next time she heard the term was years later on news reports about Elliot Rodgers

There’s a simple way to stop your partner “straying” and it’s to pay them some “attention”.

I’ve mentioned it on here before but an old man, who had a reputation as a bit of a “cad” told me the key to keeping your woman true was to “keep ‘em licked and keep ‘em dicked”.

He’d been with countless married women and said it was always the same, the husband hardly noticed them anymore so made it, incredibly, easy for him to slip in and fill the “void”, no pun intended.

I wouldn’t be surprised if affairs were on the increase these days. I mean, you’ve got grown men, with kids, coming home from work and heading out to their “man cave” or going on the PlayStation until all hours while their partner is left cleaning up and looking after those kids.

Hardly surprising she’d get her head “turned” by some young buck in the office or through a random online “encounter”.

Well what I take the report to say is as follows.
There were 3,842 amendments to birth certs.

Of those 264 were due to legal action falling under section 65 of the Civil Registration Act 2004.

Of those 264 the majority were due to the combination of all three factors, i.e.:
    1. Applications to remove the father’s details as it was proven that the man registered as the father was not the biological father of the child;
    2. Cases where the identity of the parents requires to be regularised under Irish law; and
    3. Where the registration particulars, typically historic, require correction.
So all it is saying is that these three combined are at least 50% of 264 corrections falling under section 65.

Thus we might estimate 66 such false paternal cases. Not 3,842.

Nail on the head there, W.

It’s like they haven’t let go of the “Saturday mornings on the couch watching cartoons” thing. Not sure if those of your “vintage” did that but you have kids so you know how it goes. Wouldn’t fancy seeing them still acting like that when they were in their 30s.

I've always thought DNA testing should be mandatory, no human should ever be expected to trust another human based on nothing but blind faith over something so life changingly important. But I'm saying that as someone who's been f*cked over several times by people I would have trusted with my life, so in my current psyche there's just no room for that anymore. If you're someone who thinks that such testing is unreasonable, then you're someone who's never had firsthand experience of the person you trust most in the world sticking a knife in your back, and all I can say is fair play, you've evaded one of life's worst experiences and may you continue to do so.

Or someone who thinks the risk of every single person in the country being required at some point to give a DNA sample to a government body outweighs the benefits of the few dozen to couple hundred cases of paternity fraud every year. Quite a bit of naivety and under-rock-living required to think that's reasonable, or to not foresee the dangerous lengths people will obviously go to avoid it.

Never going to be mandatory, very authoritarian idea that no politician would push. It could become the social norm though. Harmony test and paternity test should be just default actions.

That's totally reasonable, and obviously I would argue that such samples would have to be destroyed immediately after the testing. I was thinking more of those who oppose it not on data protection grounds but on "you should just trust your partner not to be lying to you" grounds, which is what most people cite in opposition to default paternity testing. If you've been through the kind of sh!t I and many other people have been through when it comes to those closest to you stabbing you in the back, you will never, ever "just trust" somebody again. No matter how much you love them. And in my view, society shouldn't require you to as a prerequisite for anything.
