Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The camerawork makes me think it won't feel as homely as corrie or eastenders, so as someone said earlier, a soap more like the bill or bbc's doctors

Is it a continuous thing or a series?

80+ episodes budgeted for so far AFAIK. Has Dun Laoghaire featured yet? :)

Think it's been signed up for 2 or 3 years.

Probably sell it to the East Europeans.

Braken wasn't a full soap it was an hour long.

it was a soap. (just because it was an hour long!) but i would call this a drama moreso. acting is pretty poor but production is nicely done

Cup of tea and a Wagon Wheel......

    hahaha.....

Was expecting something amazing wow was I wrong.

The music even for the start is rubbish.
The added or dubbed sirens is terrible and the Garda cars with the spinny lights from the early 90's

The 1st shot is in Dun Laoghaire.

Not impressed to be honest can't see many changing over to watch.

Part of me was hoping it would be like blue bloods.

Needs to be an hour long. Too little happened in the first episode.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,184 ✭✭✭✭Lapin

Looks like there's going to be a manslaughter trial after all.

Just as well this soap is signed up for two or three years or we'd never get to see the outcome.

I didn't think that gob****e Darren Kiely would ever get off the air

I think the problem in ireland is acting not script writing or production. Not enough talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

A fairly decent 1st episode, did a good job of setting out some of the characters and part of the backstory. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Honestly the only soap we've ever done with smiles and humour along with tragedy and pathos was glenroe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,273 ✭✭✭Lollipop95

Wow  I must be one of the few on here that thought that was a great first episode! Only thing I'm not fond of is the music - just seems wrong to me and old fashioned, doesn't suit the show imo

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,844 ✭✭✭✭somesoldiers

    Character name Adrijan Kosos

Full name Garda Adrijan Kosos, I'm not being rascist Joe but I have never come across or heard of an Eastern European Garda, has anyone else? Besides wouldn't the recruitment freeze have been in place when they started robbing all the poor builders jobs

too heavily focused on production, camera work , location viewing, very little dialogue.
