Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I feel like that all the damn time in that game!

On a slightly more sad note, I'm only realising I'm 41 and a half.....
Will I be soon to "mature" (old) to be the mod here?
Should the mantle be passed to a younger regular, someone who is less likely to have an infarction whilst dealing with spammers?
I'm a manager in work, and have to sick leave reviews and all sorts, so I'm a moderator there too!
    Ahhhh!!!!!!

After the day I had yesterday, just a bit.
Think I need a cap kit, in a strictly metaphorical sense, of course.

Just jaded, only GTA IV is easing my misery.
That in itself is also making me miserable!
Why can't it be Earthbound, Chronotrigger or Raiden III that I turn to???

OH, PHOOEY! I was so excited about the Trocadero arcade when I first read it...only to learn its fate a couple of sentances, later.

Worth noting, as there's been a bit of life back in it recently. Tomato (the guy who headed the Mother 3 fan-trans/Mother re-trans) has/had been working on a Mother remake, utilizing the Earthbound engine.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hSBlsfkgL8

'Mato got sidetracked elsewhere, so dev has been left up to the community, but there's been an impressive amount of progress so far. Yup, looks exactly like Eartbound, but I am enjoying the effort. It might be a good reason for those who've been warned off the original Mother due to its primitiveness and difficulty to give it a go, as I'm sure it's getting tweaks in that regard too. There is the 'easy' patch, but it'd be nicer to play it as a more balanced experience.

    Wow!
    That's awful!
And it's a reminder that the physical disk is still the place to go.
Last thing we need is a quasi return to pan&scan, despite owning massive 16:9 screens in our homes.

Thank god that Blu ray killed off the fullscreen market for physical media.

I think its a combination of good weather, fear of ridicule and the fact that the thread name doesn't make the purpose of it obvious, so more infrequent posters may not recognise it as the hotbed of retrogaming commentary and photos of cross dressing CDi owners.

Well then, could you please change it? I didn't even notice it until Atavan pointed out to me...while still drunk.

No, it's a good name and folk will come around.
    I'm not admitting defeat yet!
We'll have a face to face discussion on the topic at the next Beers, and I'll make a call then.

    Maybe instead of:

Karkariko Village Tavern: General Chat & Live Ocarina Music

Something like the below might make it more obvious:

If you double click beside the old thread name, you can rename it. Save you having to lock it :)

I seem to have done it by creating a new forum with the new name, then merged the two.
We'll see now if it makes any difference at all!

Did you watch Before Midnight? Act of Killing? Like Someone in Love? I'd prefer to talk about them.

I've been interested in watching Robot and Frank, lately.

It's fine but a little over-contrived at times (eventually more ho-hum plot-centric than character focused, despite ostensibly being a character study). The sort of film that passed the time but I mostly forgot about once I left the cinema, only to be reminded about it when someone mentions it online. Certainly dozens of recent films worth bumping up the 'must watch' list before it.

Landed in Tenerife at 11.30 this morning, been drinking since 7am. Beer is €1 a pint, vodka is €10 a litre and smokes are €2.70 a pack. Weather is blistering and our hotel is beside a comic book shop that sells pokemon booster packs for €1. Life literally could not be better.

went to see Pacific Rim last night. Best blockbuster of the summer so far!

    One negative though is
2 of the Jaegers are hyped up and destroyed in the first battle they are in and we barley get to see them in any sort of action

But apart from that little nitpick I think this film is a winner!

I enjoyed the action although too much was in the rain, there was some fun to be had, but the dialogue was awful, aside from the scenes with Mako, the lead was terrible, Ron Perlman was playing... Ron Perlman, too many tropes just trotted out to be dispatched in incredibly predictable ways.
The other Jaeger pilots were the worst stereotypes.
If it was a comic book, no one would buy it.
And this from the man who could have had the reigns of The Hobbit? Or worse still, Mountains of Madness???

The whole thing felt more like a big budget Robot Jox, that was a much better big robot film and had the late but frankly awesome Joe Haldeman co-writing with the director, watched it many years ago on VHS, fantastic!

Ok, maybe it was just as bad, but at least the battles were during the day time!

Did you ever watch Pan's Labyrinth? That movie is so much different than what you've seen from him.
