Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In addition, that pack (of teenagers) weighs 833kg, that's frightening.

Couple of very big lads in there including the latest incarnation of SOB

England leading away to Scotland 14-10

Italy 12-0 up after 15 at home to France

Been very impressed with Kelly in the centre. Big hitter and good on the crash ball

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

I know we're much improved but this Welsh side are utter gash.

I can see them going 0/5.

    Finlay is a great passer.

    Careless stuff now from Ireland.

Don’t actually think it’s a particularly good Irish team. Some very good individuals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,011 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Jaysus don't blow it now Ireland, I've been annoying a few Welsh friends.

3 or 4 guys who look the real deal but I can see them getting stuffed this summer when other nations are dealing from a full deck.

    Too many errors now.

That’s the second time Crowley has kicked it too low. He got away with that one but he needs to make sure of it first and foremost.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

What was Finlay trying to do there? Got away with it again.

Really poor game at the minute

Crowley's starting to get a bit sloppy now and taking big risks

Regardless of whether we score here, going to the corner is incredibly stupid.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Ref being very kind to us as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

And we don't score. Why on earth turn down a kick in front to go 3 scores ahead?! We're all over the place and need to steady the ship... And the BP is already secured!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Scotland beating England 17-14 and should be further ahead
    Italy 19-7 up in France

    Mad comp this year

    Shut up Buer.

What an unbelievable pass from McCann

    Shut up Buer.

I see Thomond has got to you. I shall not be silenced!

Why would you box kick into a wind like this? Baffling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,722 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Some of the footwork from our backs is unreal.

Also will someone please give the ref a tissue

Missed last weeks game, thought I read this years crop wasn’t the best? Look fairy impressive this evening.

Big improvement on last week but also Wales have been fairly dire

We look OK this evening. Wouldn't put us above that. Keep in mind this Welsh side didn't even get a LBP at home to Italy.

What’s with all the welsh lads playing for English clubs? What’s happening to the regions? Or are there an abnormally large number of English born welsh men in the squad?

    Really poor second half this

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Tom Stewart is bloody impressive, Ulster should try and get him involved as soon as possible, outstanding player

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

What’s the point in sub half backs if you’re not going to use them when your starters are clearly wrecked?

    Really poor second half this

There's four lads in the 23 (Llyod, Costelow, John and Griffin) playing in England and all but Griffin were born in Wales and moved to English schools for sixth form.
Rest of the squad are playing with the regions.

Eeked it out. Well done lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Guys being brought on with 10 seconds to play. I hate that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

A win is a win, but disappointing second half. Concentration dropped big time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,129 ✭✭✭Granny15

Hernan had a quietly effective game. I’d say his tackle count was up in the high teens

You'd have to be disappointed but someone like Corkery is very young. If he was 1 month younger he could play 2 more years at this level.

I think the weather made a big difference in both halves. We possibly handled it slightly better than the Welsh overall but just about.

Ah Corkery has started at 10 for Leinster As. He’s well able for this level.

He’s better than the last 10 seconds.

There’s not a whole lot between Finlay and Murphy as well. Let the boys play.

EDIT: Mind you Nucifora being there and looking over McNamara’s shoulder probably didn’t help.

Thought Stewart, McCann, Finlay, Crowley, Dan Kelly and Andrew Smith were all very good.

McCarthy is a kid. Still 18. I've solid hopes for any player that manages 2 seasons at this level.

He was brilliant last week, a bit headless chicken tonight but that’s just youth I’d imagine, very physical.

Scotland vs England U20s was streamed on Youtube by SRU. Scotland pushed England all the way but England edged it in the end 21-17. They play Ireland at home next and they must be favourites for mini grand slam. Italy likewise pushed France but 2 late scores saw France triumph 31-19. Ireland still have to go to France. Despite our 2 opening wins both with a bp and being top of the table I think 3rd place is probably our finishing posiition.

Ach, I'm not writing anybody off. They're just kids. He just wasn't very good last night.

Not a vintage year group for Leinster really... Despite the large number of players.

Of this age group only Hernan, SOB, Smith look like possible Academy additions.

U19 age group on the other hand..

Clarkson and Deeny are already in the academy on top of the lads you've named who could be in for a spot, I wouldn't say it's a bad crop for the u20 age group but it's probably not as strong in terms of standouts compared to other years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 490 ✭✭Scottmactom

Didn't say it was bad but that it wasn't a vintage age group for Leinster which is fine.. Given the heaps of talent at u19 level.

Who are the stand-out players at u19 level?
