I’ve 50k on the Hyperion Pros now.
First time they have came into their own for me was doing 10x400s the other day. Other than that they are a bit meh.
I’d be pissed if I hadn’t gotten them 40% off

I’ll get the endorphins for sure once I can as I rub predominantly in Saucony.

Did get a pair on NB880 and enjoying them for the easier stuff

On the subject of Boston 8 mine arrived there today. Snug for sure. Tighter than the same size in Nike. But I usually size up one size with Adidas. Feel like a tempo runner for sure which is great as I have enough session and racer shoes with recent, very welcome additions.
Looking forward to taking them out on a test drive.

I got my Boston 8' yesterday...not a fan.I only ran 5km, so it will take a while to get a better feel.
Found the lacing odd, not alot of cushioning, and loud (that is my running style)
Having said that I did a sub 20 5km in the heat !

Have a mile TT tomorrow so won't risk new runners before that. Will test drive next week for sure.

Yeah, they're snug, the Adios are a little snugger still, I bought a couple of pairs of thinner socks, mad how much difference socks can make, was these ones..
    https://www.wiggle.co.uk/hilly-super-saver-glide-socks-twin-pack/?sku=102440839

I know im a bit late with this, but as well as the hilly socks, I find the Speigen socks very similar to them! I have 5+ pairs of them at the moment and find them great

People may remember from the bargain around the time of DCM.

I love my Boston 8s, if I had to pick 1 shoe to do all my runs in it would be the Boston 8,

I couldnt stand the Pegasus 36 I had, gave them away to a pal after less than 50k I’d say, different strokes for different folks I suppose

I recently got my first pair of Boston 8s, I am a comfortable size 10 in all shoes with plenty of room. But I found the Boston’s really tight across the top of my foot, so much that I don’t pull the laces tight. I do like them as a shoe but the lacing seems wrong. Test drove Last night new Pegasus’s 36 that I picked up for 59 euro and they are fab.

New Balance Beacon v3 out today. Not the fresh Foam X like the NB1080v10 (super squishy cushion easy show) but I'm on a 2nd pair of Beacon v2 and I've loved them.

€120 not bad plus NBGIFT4YOU gets you another €12 off. €108 for a brand new model. https://www.newbalance.ie/en/pd/fresh-foam-beacon-v3/MBECNV3-31106.html?dwvar_MBECNV3-31106_style=MBECNGB3#style=MBECNGB3&width=D

The nike birthday discount lasts for 3 months now, assuming it's some temporary Covid related promotion to increase sales.

Look very similar to the V2 - any known changes or good reviews ?
I have V2 with about 400K on them, which I mostly like. Sole durability is not great.

There will be more and better reviews soon in terms of detail but seems much the same shoe. Interesting I have 500k and 850k on 2 pairs and sole durability has been ok. Given I am heavy on shoes and the fresh foam X on the 1080v10 got about 400K

Have mine a few weeks. Find them tighter on the box than the 36's but they are certainly bouncier. Nice shoe, prefer it to the 36.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,501 ✭✭✭Laineyfrecks

I'd say it has indeed to do with the fact mine are youths runners & not adults so probably won't compare them either. My 2 pegs 36 are also youths and up there with the most comfy runners i have ever bought. I checked online and there doesn't seem to be anywhere that gives the difference between the youths & adults like other companies. As I said it works for me!

Just got my pair delivered, tried them on and not too sure as the length is about 1/2 size too long compared to the Peg 36's.

I thought the same, they do look longer than my current P36, i had to check i ordered the same size which i did. I put the two on and tightened up the laces, they fitted perfectly. I'll test them out Wednesday.

I went out earlier today wearing my P37, i found them very comfortable, so soft and lightweight, you would hardly feel the impact from the ground. The last k i started to feel rubbing on the inside of my foot arch - no blister, just some redness thankfully. I'll wear these now for a few days and break them in as they say, i'll alternate between these and P36, it maybe a little early but i would definitely recommend these to anyone thinking or looking to buy, the most comfortable and lightweight running trainer i have owned to date.

I have never heard of this and I have been wearing them for a couple of years without any issue or injury. I am not saying you are wrong, I have never had my gait analysed to see how my foot lands and strikes the ground.

I know the Rub Hub on Aungier street have this facility, you can make an appointment at a cost of 25, and if you buy a pair of runners with them, this is included in the overall price, great offer and one I will certainly look to do before my next purchase.

Yeah I normally need 'stability' runners for marathons etc. Shorter distances om. I've always worn Mizuno Wave inspires but need a new pair and not liking the 16s. I bought a pair of Nike React Infinity run and I live them but not sure about long distance

I was looking at the infinity, I thought they were designed for long runs, apparently more react foam than the epic reacts (which I currently use)

Why arent you sure about long distance out of interest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,069 ✭✭✭✭event

I've only worn them on one 14 mile run and they gave me a blister which never happens. Maybe I need to break them in more. For my shorter runs, they have been great & I love them. I have the flyknit version BTW

Thinking of getting the Nike React Miler for longer runs also, reviews look good

Took them out again for 12 miles. Felt the heel slipped a bit and caused me some blisters. I have over 100 miles in them now so well broken in. Could be just me, could be because they are the flyknit. But will need more support in the heel I feel.

So will go for the Nike Miler I reckon

Wore my new peg 37's last week and they still felt very long, Went out for 8 miler and was getting very sore feet and had to stop after 5 miles. Never had a that type of pain before. I have a feel that the flex of the shoe was in the wrong place for my foot, So i sent them back. I might try them again if i can get into a shop to try them on a size down.
I am also considering the NB 1080 V10 or the Asics Evoride or Novablast.

I was back out yesterday in my P37 and ran just under 10K, i had no issue, no rubbing like the first day. I still found them to be very comfortable and lightweight. I admit, they look longer against my P36, both the same size.

Ran a half marathon distance yesterday in my Peg 36s - only got them in April and have been alternating between them and Peg 35 since - ran couple of 15km in the Peg 36 before yesterday. Anyway, about 3kms in could feel a hot spot on my left foot, but it was a virtual race, so I continued on and paid for it after - large blister has formed. This is the first time that the shoes have caused discomfort, but was very surprised to have the hot spots.

It's been bout 5 years since I had a blister like this - was wearing Brooks then and they killed my feet.

Question really is has anyone seen that much of a difference between the 35 and 36 Pegasus in terms of foot comfort?
