Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 shots from my short chase yesterday near navan and then the Hill of Tara.

Maturing Cb , this tried to get a wall cloud going so bad , was nice to watch!
    347562.jpg

This cell went by right over head at the hill of Tara , perfect viewing spot may i add! Really thought this one would let out a bolt but sure probably best it didnt because i was on the highest point in the vicinity ! lol
    347559.jpg

On the way back i just had to grab a shot at this nice field rapeseed.
    347560.jpg

    I'd give yesterday a 5/10 :)

The best radar for France that i've come across is here
    http://www.infoclimat.fr/cartes-meteo-temps-reel-images-satellites-infrarouge-visible-haute-resolution.html?i=radar

Also this site is good for convective forecasts and lightning maps (although the lightning data just comes from blitzortung.org)

Storms are still ongoing through Northern Germany. Looks like there was a tornado or certainly a very large funnel there recently

Also some big hail in the Netherlands earlier

Nice rotating wall cloud, but i'm not sure if the funnel touched down.

    Looks like it did here.

A level 1 was issued for parts of Ireland and CNTRL-UK mainly for an isolated tornado event.
    ... Ireland to CNTRL-UK...

During the daytime hours a warm front lifts north/northeast. Postfrontal warm sector remains mainly cloud covered, but a few breaks in the clouds could lead to some diabatic heating and to a few hundreds J/kg of SBCAPE. Forecast soundings would support favorable shear for rotating storms, especially for any storm next to the warm front. In case a (low-topped) thunderstorm manages to form and organize, an isolated tornado event will be possible. A level 1 was added mainly for the time period of 12-18 Z.

It's gone very quiet here despite the recent charts which would prog a real risk of very disruptive weather in the capital this Friday rush hour. Have the latest charts flip flopped?
Or maybe I'm being too impatient!!!

Not so much for Dublin I think, but the criteria that was met for the Estofex warning is still there. Whether anything actually comes of that, we'll see.

A level 1 was issued for parts N United Kingdom and Ireland mainly for severe wind gusts and tornadoes.

    showforecast.cgi?lightningmap=yes&fcstfile=2015051106_201505092049_1_stormforecast.xml
    ...N United Kingdom and Ireland...

Within trough approaching into Scotland and advection of cold air of polar origin in its rear flank, thermodynamic instability resulting from steep lapse rates (> 7C/km) and humid boundary layer (average mixing ratios ~ 7 g/kg) will reach 100-200 J/kg. Although free convective layer will be shallow (3-4 km), impressive mid and low level airflow will pose high threat for severe wind gusts of convective origin. Linearly organized convection within such environment cannot be also ruled out. High values of LLS (~ 10-15 m/s) overlapping with SRH 0-1 km ~ 150 m2/s2 will also pose a risk for tornado occurrence. Convection in this region is expected during the night and in the end of the forecast period. The highest threat for severe weather phenomena will fall on the passage of the cold atmospheric front (0300-0600 UTC). Due to relatively low and uncertain thermodynamic instability, the confidence of the forecast seems to be low.

Oh to be in France tomorrow and especially Wednesday!!!

    -12 LI anyone?!
    nmm-6-51-0_bzs6.png

Strong deep layer shear = Bowing segments and large hail a major issue. 2 inches + possible
    nmm-40-50-0_zlc2.png

DPs in the high teens, low 20s ... JUICY!!!!
