Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No streams , that idea was scratched

Mark Webster has pulled out of Q-School. I'm disappointed he's pulled out, maybe Sky had a word with him and he will be more involved with comms this year. Hopefully he does take the year to work on his game and gives Q-School a go next year.

Q School fast becoming one of my favourite darts events of the year. So much at stake. Wish it was streamed

The best of the co-commentators by a country mile
Could carve out a decent gig for himself with Sky, ITV i'd imagine

Looking at the Q-School entry list.

    Martin Adams
    Paul Hogan
    Leighton Bennett
    Justin Thompson
    Gary Stone
    Adam Smith-Neale

are the only players from the last 32 of the BDO championship not competing this year.

Didn't Ashton just miss out last year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

Yep , she has best chance when on song , but looks in poor form lately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,982 ✭✭✭Degag

Think Sherrock has the best chance. If she can match her 90 odd averages from the PDC worlds she has a strong chance

Wayne warren listed to go but unsure he will

Hardest q school to get a card yet

Leighton Bennett is not old enough to go yet, minimum age to enter Q-School is 16 and Bennett has just turned 14. You also have to be 16 to play on the PDC Development Tour. It's to do with child protection and labour laws.

There's over 850 entries with 31 cards (yet to be confirmed I think) on offer! That's some amount of entries.

I see Peter Manley is one of the entrants, no chance of it happening but it would be great to see one dart back the tour winding people up.

I think I saw lately that he has gone every year since he lost his card, which doesn't look good!

The PDC have stated that no alcohol is permitted in the venue which will definitely effect some of the players, especially the old school lads. I've no idea how Wayne Warren will cope!

It's on now. Suzuki drew another woman in Kirsty Chubb. Sherrock on now too.

A player called Jeremy Dolan just averaged 32.7 in a 5-0 loss. That surely is the worst ever recorded PDC average. I mean if you threw at the board blind folded you would average higher than that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Fair bit of luck involved in these early draws
Matthew Dennant, who had match darts against Duzza last year just beaten by Richie Burnett , averaging 93 - and that over the best of 9 legs

On a quick glance, he would have won 90% of games with that average so unlucky to be out so early on

He didn't get below 200 in any leg, that's shocking

Keane barry out, missed darts to win.

He was 4-3 up. Also finished with an 88 average compared to an 81 average.

Going to be tough for him now.

Still has a few more days. If he can up that average a small bit he'll have a chance

The Assett won, averaging just under 100

Some lad (or lady?) call Feung averaged 107 in his game

So far his decision not to enter last year and to focus on getting his game back is working. I'm not a big fan of his but would like to see him back on the tour because more 'characters' are needed.

Feung us supposedly from Hong Kong, plays on the PDC Asian Tour.

No fun drawing Feung in that form :o

Couple of things if someone could help or direct me please.

    1. How many players have entered Q School (UK abroad) and how many tour cards are on offer?

    2. How does a player win a tour card?

    3. What is the format of the competition/competitions?

    4. Is it the top 64 in the world who automatically retain their cards?

    5. Do yous think the the PDC should expand the amount of cards on offer given its massive popularity or do you think that would inflate the field too much?

    6. Do you think Q-School should be televised as it would create great drama or do you think that would put too much pressure on many inexperienced players? (inexperienced as in never played on live tv before).

Most of your questions can be answered here

The top 64 order of merit automatically retain their cards. If you qualify today, you get a 2-year card, so in any one year you can have over well over a hundred with tour cards for the upcoming year which is plenty enough.

They should have had some sort of stream to go through the matches this weekend but because it is so manic, it probably would have been difficult.

Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton both through to the Third Round. Sherrock faces Paul Nicholson in the next round.

John O'Shea and Jason Cullen also through.

Unterbuchner, Mandigers, Van Duivenboode, van Teregoouw, Cody Harris, Christian Kist, Jose Justicia

4-2 up though so should get across the line

    Sherrock wins 5-4
    Quite the game
    She was averaging 98 after 5 legs , 2 100+ checkouts
Asset came back, she missed the bull for the big fish at 4-3 and Asset checked out 72 to level
She played great final leg , had six darts from 68 checkout out, won handy enough

Trying to be more professional. The PDC don't like players drinking at events although I'm not sure how strict they are. Definitely only water is allowed while you're playing.

    Another 107 average from Leung!
