50 avg, he'd want to calm down

Keane Barry blew a 4-0 lead but wins the last leg to make it through to the last 64.

Keane barry through, but he was made fight for it. 4-0 up with a 109 avg to winning 5-4 and 93. To be fair the fella he was playing threw really well too.

If Barry wants to make it as a pro he needs to work on his game management, 124 left in the last leg and it took him 8 darts. He's a talent and I hope he makes it

Cullen and Culleton also throwing well. They are in the last 64 too.

He’s 17 and a very level headed young guy. He probably just needs to relax and enjoy his darts.

Nicholson and Jeff Smith throwing well today. One or both, if they avoid each other, to get a card.

Andy Hamilton has gone under the radar thus far and is one of the most consistent players over the last three days.
Fancy him to get a tour card.

Jeff Smith banging in big scores. Possible highest average of the tournament here.

Stinker of a last leg. Still finishes just under 104.

Today looks like it'll be Jeff Smith's day.

The points table makes interesting reading

Ryan Murray and Heta and the Hammer, Peter Jacques home and hosed by the looks of it
Steve Brown in second went out first round today
Lisa Ashton will surely get through
Nicholson and Smith will both be well up there after today

Jeff Smith takes out 110 for his card.

Happy for Smith, seems a nice guy. Himself and Nicholson are sharing a room in a Premier Inn in Wigan practicing on a dart board stuck to the back of the hotel room door and using a luggage tag to mark the oche. Two very decent quality players but it's a tough enough career below the elite 20 or 30 players.

Agreed, it's just part of his game he needs to work on, that's from my viewing. Exciting player to watch and a real prospect

Seems like a nice guy, well deserved.

Beeney gets the other tour card despite not averaging over 88 all day. Fair play to him but it just goes to show that anyone can emerge with the right draw and a bit of luck

Just checked, went out the first round on the first 2 days averaging 64 and 69 which make it all the more impressive

Who have you been rooting for outside of the Irish?

Who have you been rooting for outside of the Irish?

    Lisa Ashton.

Niall Culleton only needs 1 or 2 points tomorrow hope he can do it great player and sound bloke. Didnt think he could consistently bang in 90+ averages think he missed d12 for a 9 dart leg too.

Who have you been rooting for outside of the Irish?

Richie Burnett and John Part for nostalgic reasons. Alan Norris for sympathetic reasons.

    Alan Norris for sympathetic reasons.

100%. If there's one guy out of all these that deserve a break, it's him.

Niall Culleton is now in the top 20 on the points table - along side Nicholson and a few more on 7 pts. Needs to get through a few rds tomorrow to make it

Lisa Ashton is right on the cusp on 9 pts. Might be enough, but really needs to win a few games tomorrow to be sure

Ideal situation for them all is for Murray and Hamilton to win the 2 cards tomorrow, as they are in first and second on 14 and 12 pts
