Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hurray Finner won a max temp contest!!

That is probably one of their higher temperatures for the year thus far. Was Malin Hd much lower I wonder?

Was a terrific start to the day here, sky was clear and the sun was shining, clouded over now and looks like rain

Edit: Cloud has broken and the sun is out again

Might just work from home tomorrow. Don't fancy worrying about trains, or getting soaked/blown out of it. Plus, it's Friday and i'd like to say in bed for an extra hour or two :P

Storm has cleared here nice and dry still a breeze but sunny and mild. Storm Callum was very windy and loud last night but calmed down after a few hours slept through most of it!

horrible day here, rained all night, looks like it's going to rain for most of today as well. Not a day to be outside at all.

Already 23c in London. The temperature record in the UK for October 13th is 25.3c. If we surpass 25.9c, it will be the warmest temperature in the UK on record for this late in the year. This likely happening in the same year 29.1c was recorded on April 19th.....

    Torrential downpour in Galway

intense rainfall here, pools of water everywhere. This is as bad a day as I've seen in a long time.

Pouring down in Donegal as usual, looking at the radar the heaviest band of rain has stalled over us and doesn't look like going anywhere

24c now being reported by many stations across SE England!

Meanwhile, an awful day in Dublin. Moderate rain. 10.6mm since midnight and 11.3c atm in Dublin 16.

The difference between Ireland and England right now is sickening. A conveyor belt of relentless wet muck and misery over Ireland for about 24 hours.

The rain may not let up in parts of the Leinster till tomorrow morning. This downpour is down for the day.

If we’d 26 degrees here today you’d have half the forum on moaning about the heat and longing for the utter scutter we have today. I’d find today far worse than Storm Callum which passed by these parts relatively unnoticed.

Both records broken. October 13th record now stands at 26.3c and this makes it the warmest day on record in the UK for this late in the year unless an ice cream van has scenario has happened :p:

Last night was also the UK's warmest October night on record with 19.8C at St. James' Park, London, beating 19.4C in Wales in 1985.

Where are you getting that from? The highest minimum I heard was 19.6c at the same location (from UKWeatherworld) yet the UK Met Office have not said anything about it.

In Sheffield it's 24c, but very windy with gusts of 45knots. I'm not sure it'd be particularly amazing.

People were complaining about seasonal sunshine in summer after a couple of hot days
I can only imagine the complaints if we had to “endure” an unseasonable 24 degrees today .........
