Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cheerful and terrified. I just handed in my notice after a year of two partners killing each other and many HR meetings.

Assume you have something else lined up? Either way, best of luck with the change, a toxic workplace is definitely something worth getting out of.

Best of Luck, Jude...life is too short for putting up with a crap work situation

If it's any consolation, I did the same due to a boss I just couldn't work with. Didn't have anything lined up just had to get out of there. Worked out fine in the end and your mental health is more important.

Very best of luck and fair play to you, life's too short to dread going to work everyday.

Oh wow, Jude! Best of luck! Leaving a job, especially if you've been there a while is exactly that combination oof cheerful and terrified.

I'm cheerful right now, because I have registered for my vaccine. Bring it on! \o/

Same here, but guess what.....I registered on Friday evening....the portal was open at that stage so I just thought "feck it" - I'm 36 so techincally "shouldn't" be registering until today :pac:

I did the same, registered on Sunday even though I shouldn't have until today too. I only thought of it because I remembered seeing someone saying on here that you could register ahead of your actual day.

    That would be me.
Was advised to do it by older mates who'd done the same thing. Dunno if it speeds up the appointment but at least your registered nice & early.

Got the magic message today- getting my dose 1 of Pfizer vaccine on Thursday.
Excite :) especially as I'm only registered barely a week, I was thinking I'd be waiting longer!

Great to hear that Posy. Make sure to take a couple of paracetamol about 2 hours before and then every four hours for the rest of the day. Make sure to drink plenty water too.

We just had a wonderful day in West Cork. Weather was beautiful and I had a catch-up with a friend that I haven’t seen in person for about 18 months - sheer bliss.

Had originally gotten my 2nd appointment for saturday (which would have been 27 days between jabs) but cancelled it as we had the weekend away already planned, was pleasantly surprised to get the new appointment so quickly after requesting another one.

Hearing theres more of a reaction after the 2nd one from my friends who've nearly all had it now, but panadol, fluids & 24 hours later were all fine.

Am due to head off on hols Monday morning so was contemplating rescheduling if get text for this Sunday. Good to hear that is not a long delay if you don't take the initial appointment.

    Hope you're feeling okay.

I can't wait to have the first dose over and done with tomorrow afternoon. :)

So just tidying up a couple last minute work things and then laptop is off till Monday week :)

Probably wouldn't be online much as taking a 'screen break' as much as possible for the time that I am off. Might pop the head in the odd time, to see what it going on.

Hope your doing ok, keep us posted on how you're getting on.

I'm getting the second vaccine on Friday and am supposed to go into work on Sunday for a few hours and hope I'm not dying.

Sore arm has kicked in, not as sore as it was for the first one, so far anyway. Other than that feel okay tbh. On site for a meeting in the morning and under pressure to get some bits done so hopeful I avoid the flu symptoms a few friends and colleagues got on the 2nd jab.

Interested to see how you are tomorrow. My husband had his 2nd on a Friday and was fine. Arm a little tender on friday night and Saturday. Then he conked out on the sofa at 2pm on Saturday. Had to send him to bed for the afternoon. Was grand after that though. I'm due my 2nd next week. Will be 4 weeks on Tuesday but no appointment yet - Helix too.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,646 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

They are closing the Helix vaccination centre in a couple of weeks, so anybody getting their first jab around now will have to get their second out in the National Show Centre in Cloghran.

Slept well last night & feel fine so far this morning, upper arm a little tender but nowhere as bad as it was after the first jab still. Have a site meeting this morning so will see how I feel after that but so far so good.

FTR, felt nothing more than the sore upper arm for the 2nd jab and even that's gone now. All good...took the kids hurling training tonight and felt normal so looks like that's that for me and the vaccines. Happy days.
