Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

not surprised after all the rain over the past 4 days, unfortunately tomorrow and into Thursday looks very wet. MT mentioned in his forecast that parts of Wicklow and Kildare could receive another 40-60mm top up tomorrow.

Appalling flooding. Take care out there.

For the first 4 days of November, Dunsany, normally one of the driest stations in the country at any give time, is coming out on tops with the 4 day total of 55.9mm. Newport in Mayo coming in second at 47.2mm. Average national total for the period standing at 34.1mm, making it the wettest (but not as wet as) opening to November since 2009.

    Data: Met Eireann.

Met eireann forecast not looking near as bad as MTs over the next two days for high rain levels.

Met Eireann aren't forecasting heavy rain so who is correct? Them or MT?

They did say heavy rain for east coasts (rip S. Dublin and Wicklow)
So far in churchtown S. Dublin, since Saturday, 58.4mm has fallen.

If we get 40mm of rain, that would make it 98.4mm, or if we get up to 60mm, that will make it 118.4mm in 5ish 6 days.

Another day, another yellow rain warning for the east coast. I guess most of Dublin will be boiling their tap water for a few more days yet!

Heavy drizzle has turned to big drops of rain in cork city.

A pleasant enough day with 8c this morning. No great lift to it and staying overcast, with only a slight breeze. A typical autumn day.
    North East.

No risk of frost, some rain probably, overnight and a cooler still overcast day for tomorrow after early rain. Not bad.

    Raining lightly

The wet cold is so different from the dry cold. A/c to met. ie it is 5 degrees in Mayo... Even had to break out an extra blanket. Just a sodden chill. Still heavy rain .

dry, sunny and cold with frosts is beautiful.
Cool with wind and cold rain is absolute misery and feels much colder on the body than any cold, dry spell.

Woken by really heavy rain here in my area of meath, sounds like theres been no let up in intensity since about 8pm, flooding could really be a problem if it doesnt ease off a bit which it definitely doesn't look like doing.

Been hard heavy deluges at intervals much of the night, and I dread to think what the eastern side is going to endure today.

The ocean high tide is very loud on the rocky shore just now. Adding to the orchestra of wind and rain,

Very wet and cold in Dublin this morning with small streams and decent-sized puddles forming already. Possibly another 13 hours of this misery to go.

Was some heavy rain this morning in cork city (and we had very cold rain on the verge of sleet last night!) but it’s now a blue sky. I’ll take what we get

5.0mm so far today in Dublin 16. My Netatmo is forecasting 18.7mm today for my location.

Just been out to check the measure and its saying 40mm fell overnight, it was very very heavy rain during the night and it did seem to stall over us for a while before edging southwards but 40mm seems a bit excessive to me.

Is it me or is the front circling in over land further north than expected?

    Happy days if so
Glorious sunshine in Arklow at the moment and we've had no rain overnight and just 1.2mm yesterday

Dry and bright here in Castlebar, for the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,176 ✭✭✭pauldry

Yes front is about 100 miles further North than forecast and Isle of Man taking some of the brunt

Unfortunately its going to slip South as a Northwesterly airflow becomes established and this may bring it down the country some more

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,207 ✭✭✭✭Oscar Bravo

Its turned into a lovely day in Castlebar.long sunny spells with a light northerly. Good drying
