Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Freddie Starr, he was a regular fixture on TV in the 80s and 90s. He's a 3rd rate sh!tehawk who laughs at his own awful jokes.

Also Harry Hill, everything about him is annoying

I love Harry Hill.... His recent show Harry Hills clubnight had me in stitches, also gave a really good showcase to lots of other pretty unknown comedians. But his type of comedy definitely not for everyone.

Russell Brand is another one. At least his film career didn't last. Saw about 5 minutes of Arthur. Desperate.

One of my friend's is big into Norm MacDonald, I don't get the appeal, I'm trying to but I really don't understand it. If somebody could explain it so that I'm "in" on it that'd be great because right now I'm most certainly just a confused bystander watching a man (intentionally I think, but I'm not quite sure) being unfunny or just saying the most absurd things with absolutely no context.

What's the point of these negative threads that just ultimately lead to a list of every comedian known?

It's all subjective and down to taste. Good to have so much choice.

    You'd need to check that.

It's what she does now but started out as a stand up comedian.

It makes people feel better about themselves whinging about famous people they don't like, and comparing notes with other sad sacks about the same.

Who's that female British comedian that's being doing the "nigerian mother" joke for about 20 years now? Shouts at a lot.
    Yeah, her.

    Also see Corden, James.

I don't like him on the apprentice, but I do find him funny on GBBO.
His normal standup is quite funny.
He also does a podcast which is pretty laid back and fun too.

Nish Kumar is poor on every show! He has a knack of bringing everything back to Brexit or Trump in half a sentence. Rachel Parris is lovely to look at but like everyone else on The Mash Report, she's annoyingly smug.

I don't like Vic & Bob, but I'm a big fan of Jim Moir and Bob Mortimer separately. Bob is always a good laugh on Would I Lie To You?.

    A few more I can't listen to:
    Mickey Flanagan
    Harry Hill
    Lee Evans
    Leigh Francis

I might have to have a think about the main head-wreckers from the other side of the Atlantic...;)

Sarah Millican - “I’m fat and my husband divorced me!” Bloody hilarious shtick there, that’ll definitely not get old.

    Jack Whitehall

Louis CK - never got the hype around him

Russell Brand - tosser trying to be funny and thinks he's an intellect as well

    Des Bishop - desperate

Jack Whitehall - just not funny

    Lee Evans - unbearable

Female 'comedians' - sorry girls, yiz just aren't funny on stage. Can be very funny in everyday life but not as comedians.

Ps, my favourite comedian is Doug Stanhope :-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,055 ✭✭✭JohnnyFlash

Another vote for Russell Brand. Not only was he never funny, but I suspect he’s a sociopath.

Maybe the best of all time. Right up there with Pryor, Kinison etc.

Stewart Lee always got me reaching for the remote.

Mumbled political nonsense and woke 'in'jokes. I'm after a day at work and want a laugh mate!

Don't see him on the box much these days thankfully.

Plus this forum attracts seriously negative people, never read anything positive on it, the worse in human nature celebrated here.

I like Prior and Kinison, wouldn't have them in my top 5 but they're pretty good.

All a matter of taste I suppose but I gave Louis CK plenty of goes and he just doesn't do it for me.

If I had to pick my favourite all time comedian it would 100% be Norm Macdonald. A lot of my friends are baffled by him aswell and don't understand why I rate him so highly.

He's so far removed from being a polished performer and he doesn't toe the line with political correctness which has gotten him into trouble in the past.

I think you'd best describe him as a comedian's comedian.
