Lads can anybody tell me if their is a Fund Accountancy company in Waterford. I heard from a friend of a friend their was but i couldn't remember a name.

Swiss Financial located in the Claeboy Business Park is a small fund accountants in Waterford, it wouldnt be a fraction of the size of State Street in Kilkenny or even Bank of New York Mellon based in Wexford. The CITI Group closed their Waterford a few years ago unfortunately.

Might sound a stupid question but what qualifications does someone need to work in a bank. General cashier ??

I don't think there is a definite qualification required for the cashier positions, I know a lad who went into AIB straight after the Leaving Cert.

I know some of these institutions require applicants to have a degree to be considered, any degree acceptable. Seems odd but I know of one place for sure that applies this requirement.

i have a third level tourism higher cert which is just an expensive piece of paper (most tourism jobs are jobsbridge, CE schemes now) but its still a third level qualification.

back to college for myself soon id say unless very unlikley i get a 9-5 job soon :(:(

didn't Ladbrokes get bought by another bookie? Coral or something? or they merged, not sure, that Bookie was always busy on the weekend so its strange that it closed.

on the bank, does anyone have any links to it? I had a friend who got a job in one as fraud specialist or something, and she had no qualifications at all other than beauty stuff.

As Journeyman says, there was some sort of amalgamation with another company, I believe Ladbrokes Ireland has not been performing well for some time now. Likely this closure is a result of some restructuring to do with the amalgamation.

Serious competition at Ardkeen too with big Boylesports and Paddy Power shops nearby. The Ladbrokes was always a lot quieter than the other 2 anytime i was there.

Not surprised it closed to be honest. 2 bookies there is more than enough

Loads of jobs for waiters/waitresses. If you're a chef, you're spoilt for choice also.

Fitzwilton looking for a part time marketing person. Fair play to them for not just taking on a job bridge.
