Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been rubber legged a few times myself, think everyone has! i used to be known for it while i was living in Australia drinking nothing but "goon", imitation wine that i'm fairly sure was about 7% grapes 93% things that should not be in a drink!

I had many a goon hangover when I was living in Oz.

Was out at a 30th last night and one of the lad's younger brothers had the first bottle of Buckfast I'd seen in a few years.

    Some stuff that.

I've just realised you can look back through all your old posts on boards from the start, I've been looking through my very early posts, ****it I was a bit of a bollocks back then, I was forever getting stuck into some of the aristocrats around here, myself and Futureguy had a falling out over me calling those who captained RVP poxy when he had a deflected goal and got the three bps. Famously(for me anyway) I wound up the whole forum by claiming Gareth Bale as one of the best players in the world in November last year, it seems I was going from one row to the next back then, happy days.
Good laugh if you have a bit of time to look up your original persona, i'm sure we've all changed from the shy little boys on the first day of school:pac:

Still cant believe Madrid broke the record for Gareth Bale, absolute madness. He's a very good player but woth about half what they paid.

Going back to TV, (sorry alcoholics!) nearly finished Game of Thrones season 1 since, and could take or leave it tbh.

You take that back!! :( Ah no give it until the end of season 1 before you make up your mind, and I'll let you leave then if you feel the same.

As for myself I started into Sons of Anarchy last weekend but only 5 episodes in. I'm not sure what I make of it though. I kinda like it but I'm not sure. I'll keep watching it for another while anyway. I know where our aforementioned Jax Teller came from now anyway :pac:

I sold all my Xbox games except FIFA and haven't played it in about eight months. Haven't the time for it.

Haven't played a GTA properly since 3 which I finished.

Couldnt stick with SOA at all. Loved Game of Thrones though....a lannister always pays his debts! The wait in between seasons is a bit extreme tbh.

Finished House of Cards season 1 last week, thought it was very good.

Well I read the books over the summer after season 2 so I'm just waiting for the next book now rather impatiently :pac:

I'm not going to judge SOA yet but it seems to be all happy, clappy, do it for the family type thing. Also it's funny while I love shows like Supernatural, GOT etc I just find it hard to believe that a biker gang could hold so much sway in this day and age. I'll give it until the end of season one anyway because I want to like it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

I've seen various episodes of SOA spanning different seasons but just couldnt sit down and run through the whole thing.

Heard some reallllllllllllllly bad Irish accents in one of the seasons too. Awful!

Best character of all time? Walter White, Tony Soprano?

I haven't seen The Sopranos yet so I can't comment on Tony.

I'll give a top 5 of my favourite characters from TV shows as things stand today :pac:

    1. Walter White (Bryan Cranston) - Breaking Bad: enough said :pac:
    2. Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) - Supernatural: it's one of my favourite shows.
    3. Walter Bishop (John Noble) - Fringe: The man is a legend and has great comic timing as well as being a fantastic actor.
    4. Tyrion/Tywin Lannister (Peter Dinklage/Charles Dance) - Game of Thrones: It's impossible to split them and there's so many characters I could choose, even Joffrey as he's played so, so well.
    5. Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) - Chuck: Another show I really enjoyed and special mention to Casey and Yvonne Strahovski for being perfect in every way :)

On a day's study leave from work (exciting stuff) so catching up on Boardwalk Empire.

I'm onto episode ten of series 3 and can't believe my friend told me he found series 3 hard to watch.

I'm finding it the best yet. Looking forward to the last three episodes. Just downloading them off Sky On Demand now.

Back to MDI 04 in the meantime :(

On the subject of great characters, Gyp Rosetti is right up there with the best baddies ever on TV.

Haha, I'm waiting for the right time and Winter is coming  I might actually get the box set. A student I am, but a masters student. The workload is quite the jump

Omar is a fantastic character alright, I watched The Wire just under 2 years ago and I ended up doing an economics assignment based on what went on it :pac:

Fantastic character. He made some entrance into the show as well.
The scene where he arrives down to the beach in the army hat at the end of the last episode I watched (series 3, episode 9) was superb. [\Spoiler]

I think those are types of coffee. Only liquids that pass my lips are milk, water and alcohol.

Great piece of stuff, the capsules are on the expensive side but the quality is hard to beat.

I broke mine a month or so ago...in a rather genius attempt to sober myself up after a night out, I went for a 3am cup of coffee.
I ended up ripping off the lever (the lever of the Nespresso machine) in my drunken state.

Ironically, I sobered up as soon as I realised it was goosed.

    Hahaha! Good work!

I don't think the capsules are too baldy priced considering the quality! As the one i use is in work we all put an order in together and i think we may get some sort of discount (maybe not, i never put the order in?) as we but in bulk so i usually get 5 boxes of capsules (50 caps) for about 25 snots! When you take into consideration a coffee from Starbucks etc cost the best part of 3/4 euro its a steel for a decent cup of ste stuff!

Haha, yeah, i'd imagine breaking the thing would sober you up fairly lively :pac:

Would love to have one of them at home, but it would be too much of a luxury at the moment. Cork coffee roasters on Bridge st, is probably the best place for a coffee in Cork.

Been laid up the last few days with trapped nerves in my back, the one bonus was getting to finish off watching the second season of Game of Thrones, great show, Peter Dinklage is brilliant in it!

Just checked and season 3 isn't out on dvd until February, bit of a wait! Looking forward to that, some fine characters and acting, but they are probably two of the best actors on the show!

Season 3 as good as season 2?
