Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm wondering what is the nicest fragrance there is out there to buy. I'm thinking of buying one off fragrancex.com, as they seem to be cheap and have free worldwide delivery.

    What fragrances are nice? Preferably Eau de Toilette sprays.

    *Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I felt that as I was looking for a men's fragrance this was more suitable than Fashion and Appearance. Move as appropriate

    You probably think this sounds stoopid, but it really does depend on you! What smells nice on one person doesn't necessarily smell the same on someone else due to your own personal scent mixing with the perfume. Also, you will have to smell it all day (assuming you're the one wearing it!) so it has to be something you like.

    A few that I like on my man are:

    Bvlgari AQVA
    Issey Miyake
    CK Obsession

    Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male (after googling) I think it's called.
    The blue man shaped bottle. A guy I dated before wore that and I hate a lot of perfumes (male & female ones) but I realllllly liked the smell of this one.

    Hugo Boss is nice - another ex used to wear that, but his dad used to nick it too so it became less appealing lol.

    +1 on that. It's probably my favourite, and certainly very distinctive.

    I'd also highly rate Hugo Boss "Hugo" and "Energize"
    and Davidoff cool water.

    You should also consider the setting in which they'll be used, some are more suited to an evening/night out, others would be less strong on the nose and more suitable for a long day at work. Buy a few and find out what works best, you'll soon know what you like.

    Obsession gets a response like no other does, but it might be a little heavy for daytime wear, even in the eau de toilette.

    Hugo, by Hugo Boss is a good fresh one and more of a day-long scent.

    Paco Rabanne is a classic, very distinctive.

    i wear DOLCE AND GABBANA THE ONE to work and always get complemented by customers that i smell unreal:D

    also have ARMANI EXTREME ATTITUDE also a great smelling fragrance:D

    OP I think the answers above suggest that you should probably go sniff a few before ordering online! everyone is different!

    I'm a +1 for Jean Paul Gautier le male too though!

    Im a big fan of JPG Le Male too, but is just to common these days.

    Every second person seems to have it on.

    The same way Joop! went a few years ago.

    I used to use CK be all the time but now just typically for work.
    Now I use paco rabanne 1 million and the other week a girl talking to me in a club told me she could die because I smelled so good, so I think I'll keep using it.

    Armani Code is probably the most popular fragrance for men at the moment.

    Oh and that brown square bottled Gucci one is nice too.

    Lots of good advice in there, but remember that due to pheremones one fragrance on someone can smell totally different (either more alluring or repellant) on another person.

    You don't have to spend a small fortune on a nice aftershave, i find that the best aren't the fashionable high cost brands, the classic shaving shaving scents are streets ahead of the fashionable stuff, check out shaving.ie Chris has some great stuff and at reasonable prices, and he's a regular poster over on facial hair and hats forum.

    I use all of the above and love them all. Really cannot go wrong with any of them (although Joop! can be a little heavy and overbearing at times!)

    My personal favourite from the above list is Hugo Boss Original. Tasteful, fragrant and not too heavy. Can't really go wrong.

    My brother got David Coolwater from FragranceX.com the other day and I have to say it smells very nice!

    I've heard good things about the A&F Fierce one as well - I might consider buying it. I assume it won't be in Boots so I can test it before I buy it?

    I find the idea of men applying fragrances appalling. Maybe it's my strong sense of smell but I've always found women's perfumes repulsive and nauseating. Men smell good, we don't need added "extras".

    I don't really wear perfume. But I wouldn't exactly oppose anyone who chooses to wear it.

    Oh, and I used to find perfume quite nauseating, until I realised that there exist a huge range of different smells and types, and that those which are kinda nauseating should be used sparingly.

    i think the idea of bathing in aftershave is awful alright. We all know what young lads can be like. A nice subtle fragrance though is ok. Small amounts though. I shouldn't smell it unless we're in very close proximity.

    Ok, I'll concede to the point that idiots who bathe in aftershave should be shot, it never hurts to sometimes wear some when going out. Subtle fragrances do nothing to hurt anyone and are pleasant, but yes, lads who douse themselves in aftershave should not be allowed to buy any at all!!!
