I have no idea where my codes are, spent two hours trying to login to my uplay account last night. It seems to be tied to a dead email account but for some reason I was logged in on the laptop. Tried changing my password and changed my EA one instead, got confused.
Set up a new uplay account today as it seems to be the only way to contact support, gave them hell but politely, still no response

Dunno why but my guys beard shadow on the wall caught my eye. The photo mode is a nice touch as well.

Really liking it so far. Agree with above, graphics seem less crisp and kinda clunky to move. Feels a bit laggy as well but enjoying it a lot. Will be a day 1 purchase for me.

ever since the bfv diversity debacle I seem to be playing as female minorities, I hope this isn't leading to a bigger problem

One hour in on Xbox OneX and I'm pretty happy! just only unlocked the first settlement and the first mission. Some familiar stuff but others seem strange to be unlocking (for example your have to unlock weapon grips and scopes, I think!!)

Solo'd the first mission no problem only got killed twice and that was because I was still figuring out the whole armour thing.

One of the greatest things about Div1 was the matchmaking for missions made a lot of friends through it so I presume that will continue. But I like this idea where now you can call for backup in the in the LZ, haven't answered anybodies calls yet so I dont know will this be popular in the long run. Might be if there are some good strong gangs in the LZ that you actually need backup.

Graphics seem pretty good to me on the OneX, smooth enough and and haven't been kicked or seen any delta errors. My missus is out of town tonight so Ill be able to put in a few good hours tonight on my 75inch 4K HDR TV without her complaining :D:D

i'm going to need to go to night school to learn how to build a character, it seems unbelievably complicated and random at first glance

Pretty dire beta so far with the bugs and connection issues, loads of disconnects to white screen when reloading weapons..and those anti cheat disconnects jeez..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,910 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Just got a white screen and kicked out of session on PS4. I was trying to make some of the UI bigger like items I pick up, can barely read it. Couldn't figure out why I had no mini map and turns out I had moved it off the screen. It's good you can customise the UI but need a few more options. At least you can make the subtitles bigger.

Also, open minimal, scroll to SHD tab, hold square to disable On Call. No more 'an agent requests your help'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,151 ✭✭✭_CreeD_

It should be titled "The Division 2: Delta Force" . The disconnects are a fkn joke for a modified engine repeating a launch they should have already learned enough lessons from. I can live with new features being buggy but this is shamefully bad.

Other than that yes the environment doesn't have the same flare as 1 but still has it's moments, I particularly like the night streets being so much darker, well at least the 3 times I respawned in them during 30 minutes of trying to play. Gameplay is still fun but the movement does feel a little gluey.

I am really surprised at the poor technical state of this in such obvious ways so close to release.

Fuuuuuuck in the middle of a boss fight and boom white screen kicked from session. Gonna leave it tonight, see if the maintenance helps tomorrow. Really like what I'm actually playing though. Nice finding weapons from actually looking around the map and not just looking for white blips on my minimal. I can get over the lag/pop in graphics as I know they can be fixed for the full game

I really like the idea of settlements, building them up, recruiting special people to BOO.

    No issues like the above.

Just bought it so thats means something, its like the Div 1 at the start with more fleshed out stuff.

Was an early access Div 1 player got to 30 then waited as stuff came out, wasnt really playing at the end when all the good **** dropped. I have dropped into Div 1 over the years and was impressed but never really played it.

Sp yeah no technical issues other than whats know and good gameplay.

Needs more snow. If there's no blizzard like conditions in this then that'll be a major disappointment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,405 ✭✭✭Lone Stone

i did a story mission with a random group was really fun and looked lovely and really like the feel of controls, compared to anthem it's just hand over fist better.
i get disconnected most of the time so i wont bother putting much time into it so i can get the most out of it at launch.

Does anyone know if the character creation is going this F to randomise ****e or that just in the beta ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,910 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Devs confirmed character creation only has random option in beta but full game will have full creation suite.

Huge amount of detail in the environment. I'm getting a lot of pop in, delayed loading of assets and blurry graphics but when they do load, everything looks really really good. Devs hinted at survival type feature coming later and every free expansion will add to the map so I've a feeling they'll either use a bad storm or a blizzard of that yellow toxic stuff to create a survival type setting (pure speculation)

it's really very unstable, crashed several times this morning and now I have to go into work, fu life

  • Registered Users Posts: 258 ✭✭Flashdan

It feels like a better version of Div1. I like all the capture points around the map and the patrols of regular people that you can help.

I had no technical issues on PC

I think it will be great

Having had maxed characters on Div 1 for some time my favourite thing is having stuff to loot again "Oh, a piece of steel, that's FANASTIC!!!"

  • Registered Users Posts: 954 ✭✭✭PaddyBomb

Only got to play an hour of it last night and it crashed twice on me but I suppose that's why it's a beta.

From what I got to play, it felt good. I like the idea of repairing your armour and shooting the enemy's armour off instead of the spongey enemies from Division 1.

I watched one of his videos the other day and he was saying he didn't really care about div 2 but then, he didn't really care about games anymore. Then I saw a Reddit post saying he was swaying people's opinions on it that it was a bad game just because he is burnt out from it. Interesting read But yeah, no hiding from the facts in that video. I'd say this is gonna have a rough launch, still buying day one though :)

Marco did seem pretty jaded tbh but as you said the video speaks as to why.

The base game seems quite good, performance is on par with the first, it has everything I loved from Div1 and I like at least what I've been able to see of the additions like settlement building. The bugs are shocking though at this stage, it's not a brand new design/IP or even engine. I would have expected the Beta issues to be fringe cases or at least related to new features not what looks like full scale regression code and server wise.
All that said I'm not changing my pre-order, I have faith they will work hard to resolve them, they've earned that over time with their continued work on Div1.

The only thing is the beta is probably an earlier build but still with just over a month to release some of the issues are worrying.
Still as someone who lived through the Battlefield 4 launch I maintain these things hold no fear.

Im years playing beta builds over countless genres and this close to launch i have yet to see any change significantly.
What you see in this beta is very close to final build, dont be fooled by the BS they all try to spin about it being an old build blah blah blah, its the best build they have right now, why throw out a **** old build when its crucial it makes an impression on potential buyers.
    Same story for all devs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 876 ✭✭✭bigphil2

im enjoying so far,got kicked a few times (ps4) but it never lost any progress. I too preferred the Winter setting and im not a big fan of the new character models, but the gameplay is enjoyable, and ememies are definitely not as bullet spongy as the first game..
Im glad too that it seems to be a fairly long campaign and even longer with the side missions too, also doesn't seem to penalize you for playing solo, alothough I had ti turn matchmaking off as was getting a heap of invites and it was distracting..

Ill definitely be getting it when its out...

Anyone play this today since the maintenance? Improve the connection issues? I don't mind the graphics and glitches for the beta but the disconnections are very annoying. Looking forward to giving this a good few hours tonight, hopefully can squad up with a few people on here.

yeah agreed the disconnections were the most worrying thing, if it's like this at launch I'll be having a fit. Wonder if it's just the PS, someone posted earlier there were no such issues on PC?

Earlier today pre-maintenance I was 117 in a queue which brought back horrible memories.

Ill be jumping on in a hour for a while, hopefully its not a kick fest.. as the one thing I hate,is the loading times when you get kicked,it was taking about 3-4mins to get back in last night..when you only have a certain amount of time to play,sh*t like that would put you off..

It was always going to be similar. If they've improved on the "finished" version of the original then it'll be very solid overall.

No disconnects on PC for me anyway. Looking forward to the release, always loved The Division but didn’t have time to play some of the DLCs from the first, more time this year so I’ll be looking to put many hours into it.

Played for an hour earlier with no issues, vs. every 10-15 mins the last 2 days. Fingers crossed it's now stabiised.

Baby asleep, I'll get about 30 minutes of PS4 time, jump on to find an update, fine just a few hundred mbs. Downloaded and now copying the file for some reason, 20% done in last 10 minutes. If anyone is planning on playing this today with limited time like myself, turn it on early and let this bastarding update do it's thing. **** sake.

Finished the first mission at the Washington hotel (last time, the game crashed at the boss, no issues this time). I had read about a key you can pick up off a dead body propped against a wall in the meth lab place when you first enter the hotel. No glowing or map indication, just prompted to loot when beside it. The key opens a room in the hall just before the roof top section. Got a nice gun and body armour that was 200 above my previous armour, well worth looking out for. I had an awesome rifle that was 2 shotting most enemies but when I got to the last section of the mission, it had swapped out for an AR. Couldn't find it in my inventory but definitely didn't dismantle it. Will look for it later but was strange.

I noticed a lot more stuff on my 2nd time through that mission like how the place was used for dog fights and you can find one of the dogs still alive but behind a cage. He's standing beside a dead dog, Jaysus UBI, right in the feels. It made killing the hyenas that much better.

As for gear, I found a lot of stuff I instantly equipped throughout the mission. In div 1, most stuff I picked up was always below what I was carrying so was just rubbish.

Edit: I read as well that any lootbox you find in the world will refill everyone you level up and will scale with you. Sound like you'll never be stuck.

Yeah I found what looked like a supply drop hanging from a parachute on top of the safe house near the Jefferson centre, got a blue rifle from it. Once you beat the second story mission in Jefferson centre you can play as end game characters with one for each specialisation with all gold and purple weapons and gear. You can use them in the invaded mission which is basically the Jefferson centre mission but with much harder enemies

Tried the start on my own and was getting slaughtered so left it alone. Been trying to get to dark zone but constantly getting killed on the way there

Got to level 7 as quick as I could and headed to the DZ. Was easy going for a while as I was on as soon as servers went live. But then got killed many many times by 3 and 4 man groups. The DZ is no place for the solo player anymore. As there is no real healing in the game apart from the armor, it's almost impossible to take on 2 players yourself. It's become a sniping game, which doesn't work cause if u snipe one of the 2 players, he will get revived before u can down him. It's a very different DZ to the original.

On the plus side, for now anyway, all your gear is normalised in the DZ, so it doesn't matter what colour it is or what level. A level 1 Police M4 performs just the same as a level 7 purple.

Gonna try get as much skill power as I can and see what the seeker mine can do. Be fun if it's a one shot.

Yeah seeker mine is great along with turret, could never get drone working. Also seen that they can be modded too, but you can't do so in the beta
