Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I love how comically Soviet the Georgian anthem is

Not a bad return to the international scene for Nadolo.

It'll be embarrassing enough if Fiji smash Georgia here.

Was just thinking exactly that. Fiji, in their first game in over a year, look like mincing Georgia in a way that was completely beyond us.

Only the first 15 minutes, though.

Fijian lad just walked into a ruck from the side to kill a knock on advantage for Georgia.
Officials are happy to go back to the scrum.

The actual refereeing of this shíte tournament have been awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Georgia are getting absolutely nothing from the officials.
Fiji are all over them in the lineout, Georgia lose when it comes to ground.

Georgian backs don't want to know

Fijian scrum half trying to get in on the act, truly embarrassing attempt at a tackle there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Yeah the Georgian 7 went from playing tag for Nadolo's third, to beast mode for his own, back to one hand touch-hit the ground.
    All over the place.

Is the best "anthem", in my humble opinion. Get shivers when the bagpipe drops away and the crowd sings a verse acapella.

really enjoyed exactly one person trying to do the response.

Sexton wearing a track suit during the anthems?

They should really get a proper recording of Irelands call. One that doesn't sound like an American folk pop song.

"We see Richie coming in from the side"

RTE commentary on point as always. :pac:

    That's bloody awful from POM.

    Another butchering.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 472 ✭✭Kraftwerk

And more pointless kicking away of possession in the opponents 22.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭theVersatile

    Right idea tbf from POM

Idea was stupid for a flanker to try grubber the ball in the opposition 22. Waste of possession and nothing more.

Nah, it was a very good idea... defense was flat footed and earls was in...too much welly on the kick is all

Yes, I much prefer when we go through 15-20 phases of pick and go before we lose the ball

It's as good an idea as Keenan carrying against England. Right option (carry was the right option) stupid idea (Keenan had no business doing it) results in losing possession. Same with POM here. Just because a drop goal is on doesn't mean its a good idea for a prop to have a go.

So might as well have a flanker hack it into touch? Yeah that's a huge improvement

    That ruck was horrifying

So now that our tournament is finished what are peoples thoughts on:

    Over all Performances?

    The Positives?

    The Negatives?

what a shame Fiji didnt play the full tournament - they probably play the best rugby in the world right now , taking over from Japan - Northern Hemisphere huff and puff rugby really is hard to watch typified by England.

The Fijians play a nice style. Wouldnt call it best rugby in the world and what exactly is "huff and puff rugby" anyway?

Wayne Barnes interpretation of the game gets more bizarre every year

Cause that happens when there is no contact with the head.
Did Barnes say anything about it, why it was legal? Have two excited kids and a sick wife so not paying full attention

nothing will probably get done, its like ther is little room in professional game for risk-taking , its all playing to detail and plan , certainly in Northern Hemisphere - When I see rugby played by Fiji , and Japan recently thats the game I grew up loving. Australia, NZ and Argentina(at times) can play with flair - have found most of the rugby this autum pretty boring.

You just keep repeating the word flair?
What do you mean by flair?
Repeating the word over and over means nothing. What way do you want the team to play and how would you select a team to play in the manner you want.

    Great try
