Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Like the surfers in Auckland, huh durkadurka? High tide at Red Beach means heading round to Browns Bay.

Anyway, in terms of board games, abalone is pretty addictive. And I was always impartial to a bit of chess, never particularly good at it though.

Not sure but Murray's expression would suggest he's not enjoying it...

Just sent a PM to JM08 - apparently he's "schooling" him...

It's a great game to play if you are a bastard, have underlying bastarding tendencies, or else just intensely hate all of your friends.

    Oh totally.

But I've managed to lose the game when there weren't even any cylons. It really does capture the atmosphere of the first season though.

Dwarf Fortress is an enigma to me. What is its appeal?

    http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/02/dwarf-fortress-ten-hours-with-the-most-inscrutable-video-game-of-all-time/

I've cooled off now, I don't know if it even has an appeal, and that is it's main appeal really. It's a bit like Leo Cullen.

Warlight is an addictive past time. It's an online version of risk basically. You can play on the Game of Thrones world and stuff. Like 1500 territories!

Cheers for that. I played it once years ago and couldn't get over the ASCII graphics.

Oh yeah, I don't use those. You can get graphcs packs that go over the ASCII and they look much better like http://i.imgur.com/g3av8Vj.png or http://i50.tinypic.com/2euu0oz.png

Would love an answer to this was trying to figure it out myself. You would think that they would at least have a link on the site explaining it.

Due to competition with thescore.com I imagine but yeah, silly name.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,163 ✭✭✭TheGoldenAges

If they really wanted to become more international slanted they should have at least got a .com domain. .ie domain will always hold it back as an Irish website covering sports in other countries.

My favourite sports website grantland.com covers mostly US sports (as well as pop culture) but because of its universal name it can cover other things. Like for instance it covered the whole Messi drama last week.

The awkward moment when Ryan Tubridy shows a picture of Claire Byrne at school and you see your wife standing in it...

Probably more awkward that we were watching the Late Late in the first place.

No!! She was in the same class as Claire Byrne and was standing beside her in the photo Tubridy showed. Seems that personal grooming wasn't as big a deal for 15 year old girls back then!!

So I have two gripes about today:

    1. Marty Moore's dog sexually assaulted mine in the park today, when he licked my dog's genitals inappropriately.

    2. I Brought the kids to the panto today. Sitting in the front row, I was singled out mercilessly by the dame every time she came on stage .
    It was relentless and ruthless....

The Bath result doesn't outweigh these two atrocities .

I stopped watching in the 2nd half at 16-0, what happened from there?

You'd swear somebody scripts some of these NFL games. Incredible stuff. Wilson had a QB rating of zero in the first half.

16 points in about a minute and then scored a TD on the first OT drive.

Just not a clue what happened.

Didn't know Pete Carroll is 63 years old. You could easily believe he was 15 years younger than that, except for the fact he was at USC so long!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭shuffol

Green Bay imploded though. Have to feel sorry for Rodgers even though he was far from perfect. The two point conversion hail mary was the crucial moment.

Bah I'll keep on track with the NFL Fantasy next year. I've really gotten into NFL recently and tonight was awesome!
