Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We were told Q1 last week

What exactly is a community church? It will be a shame no longer having the football pitch.

  • Registered Users Posts: 43 LeeC1990

Pity about the football pitch being converted, it would have been great.

Ixus - how do you know the pitch is being converted into a community church?

Looks like things are finally starting to move. Have been told notice of closing will be issued in 2 weeks time... should be in by 2nd week of Oct. Was originally told April. So happy now I could cry....tears of happinessðŸ˜

Thats great news, fingers crossed no further delays! Keep us posted how it goes. Did you complete your snag and any issues are now resolved?

Can't do snag until I receive notice of closing and I think I have 2 weeks to close.

    Hi,
Did they give you a date for your snag? I rang them last week and they just said mid sept
    Thanks

They said they plan on issuing notice of closure on the 25th and to make contact with my snagger to let them know it will be ready from the 25th. But I can't make an appointment for snag until I receive the notice of closure through email! On the 25th! Yeah I know... but I'm trying to look at it "glass half full"

Just ring your snagger & let him / her know it will be "around" the 25th. I'm sure they will accommodate you. That's what I do with my customers. There needs to be some degree of flexibility on both sides. A day or so either way won't be the end of the world

Assuming they don't want anyone moving in the weekend of the open houses for the next phase, the second week of October makes sense

The Community Church is supposed to be built where the current Football Pitches are on the Dublin Rd - And not where the Proposed Park is planned to be in the Carton Wood brochure. This area is just empty fields currently.

    Hi all,

How are you getting on with the snags? Any major issues?

Are you still all set for the 25th Sept notice of closure and snagging?

We're still waiting for confirmation on notice of closure and snagging. That mid-Sept snagging date is looking less likely!

Yes we got our notice of closure last week and we got in to do our second snag yesterday but there's still a lot on the list which they didn't do from the first snag which was done in June.

Are you scheduled to move in beginning of October, given they mention 2 weeks from snagging? Just trying to figure everything out considering what little communication we have had. Our house is finished so not sure what the delay is in getting the notice of completion.

Yeah I get the impression from them they want us to move in asap but there are still a lot of items on our second snag list now that they never completed from the first snag and a few new ones too. Very frustrating seeing as we did the snag ages ago. Plenty of time to fix any snagging items.

You might receive notice of closure soon as I had emailed them last week and they sent it to me later that evening.

Do you mind me asking, is your house in the bunch near where the showhouse was or in that central block closest to the road?

Were they fussy as to when you could get out to do your snag seeing that you only did it yesterday?

Yeah, we bought one of the terraced houses near the showhouse!

No in fairness they weren't, I had to arrange for the surveyor to come back out so the earliest we could get in was Tuesday. Still a lot to be done from the first snag, so we'll have to go back again

  • Registered Users Posts: 35 PDiddy87

That's a pain to go out a third but I'd say this time, when they are within grasping distance of your money they'll get it sorted! Good luck, and let us know here once your in!

As soon as they get our paperwork we can pick up the keys and move in. Should be end of week next week.

We haven't heard anything as of yet. I know our kitchens are fitted and carpets are down with the house cleaned so not sure what the delay is at this point.
Hopefully others have a better update for you :)

I'm still living in hope that I get notice of closure on Monday. As per builders email. Have my snagger bookedin for Tuesday... provisionly...please god I'll be in within the 2 weeks. I'm losing the will to live at this stage!!!!

And... Monday for getting notice of closures has been pushed back again! Typical!

Is anyone, who's got their notice of closure already, any closer to getting their keys/moving in?

Did you get an email from AN this evening? We got nothing today but were told it would be today or Monday.

Any other info on when to expect an update for notice of completion?

Yeah we got an email from AN earlier this evening. Delays with ESB - won't know more until next Wednesday supposedly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Lexi77

I'm the same. Drove past the site this evening and locked up. So looks like no one has gotten keys yet. They gave the option to snag early without esb.. Think I might still go ahead with the if they let me. Let them get a start on fixing whatever before esb is connected..

Cant understand why we didnt even get in an email in this case, are you by the show houses or the block in front of the road?
The lack of information is very frustrating...

Communication from AN is awful. Site looked better this time last year then it does today. They just don't seem to be in any rush. Today (sat) we saw 1 person on site yet in carton grove there was a lot of activity. Very frustrating

And in Hayfield! We were only saying its strange no one is working today given they are so behind in their timelines. Not suggesting people make a habit of working 6 day weeks mind :) Just when needs must...

I know we will all get the keys at some point, but some info would be helpful!

Exactly when needs must. AN said first people would be in by April so 5 months behind already you would think they would throw a bit of money at it and get a few heads working on Saturday. A lot of builders would be happy to do a few hours on a sat.

Received notice of closure Wednesday two weeks ago, our solicitor said Friday that ANs solicitor is still awaiting documents on their side, looking like week after next before we close, even though the notice of closure gave a strict 14 day window to close from issue on September 6th

Nope, we've to go out for a third time now to check snags have been done. We were told our snags had been attended to on Thursday (but we'd been told that before and there was still a lot on snag). The foreman wasn't available Thursday and Friday so we rang another number we were given to ask him questions about some of the issues to make sure they were done before we took time off work for a third time! The man who we rang didn't know any of the specific issues of our house and was only there to let us in. So we told them we wouldn't be calling back until we'd spoken to the foreman first to confirm the issues have been amended. So frustrating.

Have you been given any date as to when you might get your notice of closure?

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Lexi77

I was told 2 weeks ago it would be Monday and then Friday got an email about the esb. I thought they'd be fairly strict with the 2 weeks to close. That they'd be anxious to get the money rolling in. It's so frustrating. I'm living with folks since May and it's not doing any of us any good. And I know other couples are the same. It's taking the good out of it..

What did they say about the esb? Because the electricity was connected when we were doing our snag?

It's annoying for all of you. They were so rigid with deadlines when we had to get back about changes but they don't seem to value their own commitments to deadlines.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Lexi77

They said esb let them down and it will be Wednesday before they can connect. Think I'll still try and snag beforehand if they let me. My solicitor has everything in place ready to close whenever we get the go ahead. Hopefully soon.

Nothing from us anyway. Still awaiting the email that was promised for yesterday. Rang AN and they are saying we should have an update in the next day or so.
Great news that you get to do your final (fingers crossed) inspection! There seems to be a lot of activity on site today with some cars from people I am assuming are carrying out their snags.
