Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know where i can buy a block of lard? I've tried all the major supermarkets.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lard

Lard makes the best pie pastry if your wondering why i'm looking for it.

Try one of the Polish/Eastern European shops. I've bought lard (smalec) in the Foodland in Westside before.

As my mother has poor eyesight, she asked me to get her a decent size Analog watch she can see on her wrist. 30-40 mm white face I thought was the best approach, I thought I had hit the jackpot when Argos had one that even talked. Downside is it'll take 2 weeks and home delivery costs as well as I want it for Mother's Day.

Has anyone spotted anything like that around the city that I can purchase or any ideas that could help this quest?
    I'd greatly Appreciate the assistance.

Larger electrical retailers should take them back, Harvey's might take them on the westside.
I can't swear to this but I think Peter Murphy's in westside sc might take it either.

If you have to replace an appliance then whoever sells you the new one has to take the old one.

If you're just clearing junk, that's not essential and can wait till Liosbaun opens.

Can confirm Peter Murphy's in westside took a washing machine off my hands back in August, one that was bought elsewhere. Think they're obliged to take WEEE waste even if you aren't buying something off them. Now maybe things have changed since then but it was no issue for me.

EDIT: Just saw an earlier post there, they aren't obliged to take large appliances off your hands if you aren't making a purchase

You might be sorted already, but have you had a look at the Cluse brand? Quite a big watch face, come in different styles, and the straps are changeable. I got one for my mam a few years ago, she has sight issues, and still loves her watch. From checking their website, shipping is 3-5 days to Ireland.

Ray on Abbeygate Street. Dunno what the name on the place is but there's a doorway beside Vanda Luddys Gallery and he's up a flight of stairs

Edit: found an old thread giving the same advice but better directions. The other shop mentioned (Quinn) is gone now. https://touch.boards.ie/thread/2056824687

Second that, Ray does great work, charges a fair rate and is really friendly and approachable. He did our wedding rings a few years ago and he'll still stop for a chat if ya bump into him at the supermarket. Lovely guy.

A playstation 5. I am not as anxious or desperate as it's not for myself, it would be a gift for kids and isn't urgent but there doesn't seem to be any sign of stock anywhere and when they do pop up you need to be luckier than getting a Glastonbury ticket!

    Any had/have any luck/advice?

I'm looking for mdf panels that have lines routed into them so they look like tongue and groove when they're put up. Sometimes called v-groove mdf panels. Have found them in Dublin but can't seem to find in Galway. Thanks.

Have not noticed them for sale.
However, if critical, you could ask Woodcut in Liosban on option of making some up.

Run your hand along area of the bathroom where water might come out. Like the pipes going into the sink. It's a good chance the pipe is exposed if it's leaking that much.

Most Aldi stuff has a three year guarantee. Try bringing it back.

If you paid by card your statement might suffice. Also it would be their own brand so you obviously didn't buy it anywhere else.
They can be very good with this type of thing of you get talking to the right person. No harm in trying anyway.

You can go outside 5k to shop. It’s arguable that the closer one didn’t have what you needed. A friend had a voucher for somewhere too so had to use that. Once you don’t take the proverbial I think it’s grand.

Ivors won't generally touch Aldi stuff from what I've seen. Not worth the hassle

Even if they did it would probably be more expensive than the item originally cost.
