Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah there was one weird moment during Raw after Rollins did his thing with the Street Profits. He gets all amped up like he’s going to wrestle next, then they cut to Becky walking towards her match and said “Seth Rollins’ girlfriend Becky Lynch takes on Alexa Bliss next!”

And let's not forget "The man's man"

I haven't seen it here but maybe I missed it but the WWE tv taping in September from MSG in New York aren't selling well for either raw or smackdown. I mean how bad have things gotten when even a tv tapping in the garden can't sell out for WWE ? I know there are issues with unions in New York and it became cost prohibitive to run MSG for WWE hence why they haven't done a raw there in ten years. So, while WWE are to blame I think the management of MSG which is headed by that blithering idiot James Dolan who owns the knicks have to take a lot of blame also. They have forgotten that the WWE made the Dolan family a lot of money over the decades drawing big numbers to that venue. It's also why I'm not a fan of other wrestling companies having shows in MSG.

I just dont think unless its a big event wrestling ala mania, summerslam, all in, all out etc that wresttling is a draw. I think we will see this in AEW once they start touring more often.

King Cuerno has apparently signed up to start in NXT soon.

Kinda sucks, he's really good and they'll definitely waste him. I can understand he probably signed because he is 35 so he'll be 40 by the time he finishes his first run with them and he'll get paid well.

Taker flirting with working outside the WWE last year and earlier this year seems to have worked Dave is reporting Vince has signed him to a lifetime contract.

Nice wage and merch deal paycheck coming in every year now I'd imagine.

This reminded me to check the status of Lucha Underground and seems it's still not officially cancelled yet.

It's a but of a disaster frankly. They have no plans to tape any more episodes, they let some people out of their contracts on a case but case basis, some people can work elsewhere but can't appear on US TV until their contracts run out.

It's basically a prime example of why you shouldn't let a TV company run a wrestling company.

He'll be set for life now I suppose. Not that I think he needs the money, but he'll be getting paid good money most likely so that's a big win for him.

The initial batch of tickets for the first AEW TV show sold out in less than two hours.

The are going to re-jig the production set up in the arena to release a few more tickets shortly.

It's not the first week or second week or third week they will be worried about it will be weeks 10/20/30 etc when maybe the novelty wears off.

I can't remember, are they staying in an AEW Zone or are they touring weekly?
And what kind of numbers are they talking compared to the PPVs?

It does give them some peace of mind starting out as it means they don't have to have great storylines going in from the PPV to attract a live crowd, while viewers will watch outta curiosity, so that's when they'll need to hook with storylines and wrestling.

I guess this would be better suited in the AEW thread, but who's writing? Are Cody and co going to do a Vince with the final say?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,877 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

They said they would be touring the live TNT shows.

For reference this was the same arena about a month ago for a WWE house show right before the first match started:

To be fair, it's to be expected. With how often they seem to be in the same places, I can see people getting bored of going when they know nothing of importance will happen. Hopefully AEW does better down the line so WWE realise they have competition.

It's on the wrestling company to put on an interesting product so that people go to their events. The advertised main event of that house show was then champion Seth "Beige" Rollins vs. Baron "What? Why?" Corbin.

Imagine thinking that anyone would care about seeing that dire match up for the billionth time. I mean, WWE only has a couple of hundred wrestlers signed at the moment so it's obvious that the headline match should be tryhard, knock-off Kenny Omega vs. the half trained PC guy who got hot shotted on the main roster because Vince thinks women find his love handles and receding hairline sexy.

Truly the best pro wrestling on the planet.

If the worst things wrestlers are doing these days is sending dick pic's to other adults there is a few old school wrestlers rolling in their graves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,220 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Wasn't that how he was caught cheating? I think the rumours were his pics leaked and his girlfriend at the time didn't recognise them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

If someone is sending someone unsolicited dick pics, that’s creepy as **** and the equivalent of an auld lad in a trenchcoat flashing people in a car park.

The picture your man painted makes it sound, whether he knows it or not, like it wasn’t unsolicited. Her reaction isn’t the reaction of someone who’s got sent a nude unexpectedly from a co-worker.

Then again these people just sound like broken messes Jeremy Kyle never got around to having on his show.

Trevor Murdoch put this up on his facebook page. Well done to Vince for this

"I just wanted to put this out there. Harley needed to be transferred from Atlanta to St.Louis. He needed to take a Med flight because he was in rough shape. Medicare wouldn’t help him. A call was made to WWE and 10 mins later it was paid in full. Vince McMahon never blinked an eye. He wanted to make sure Harley was taken care of.
Thank you Vince, you gave me 2 more days with Harley.

So you're cool with them not actually booting out Nazis even if the performers and the rest of the audience wants them to?

I suppose if you are ok with them taking money directly from a murderous dictatorship then being ok with them letting Nazis into their shows isn't actually a huge leap.

WWE don’t throw people out of events. Do you think Triple H is the one responsible for crowd control when they come to 3Arena like?! :pac:

I don't know the background of all his beef with Goldberg, Jericho, Lance Storm and Booker T but being honest I kinda like him telling all the old fogeys to, more or less, fúck off...

I'm really enjoying Riddle's stuff and hope it goes somewhere.

Having said that, nostalgia is a phase people go in and out of. Currently people are hungry for new stuff, new names etc so that's what is hot and people act like nostalgia is the worst thing ever. But people also loved when they did that stuff at Raw 1000 or Raw 25. Now it's not 'cool', so some act like Raw Reunion was them spitting in the face of wrestling, when essentially it's the exact same type of show that people loved when it was 'cool'. If anything, I found it better than normal because at least the nostalgic names and pairings (e.g. Cena with Rikishi, Santino, Melina etc) were fresh and we hadn't seen in that spot before, whereas in previous years you'd be able to list off who to expect and they'd just show up and do their shtick (e.g. Ron Simmons is going to say "Damn" at some stage).

So it's not like nostalgia is this evil thing. It's perfectly fine and every company uses it (sure AEW are milking Tony Schiavone, Jake Roberts and Tully Blanchard is Shawn Spears' new manager). Riddle is just working and getting over by picking up on the current mood and, like I said, I hope they capitalise on it. Riddle/Goldberg is becoming a WrestleMania-worthy match because of this.

    Goldberg should never wrestle again.

To me, it feels like Riddle is trying to get let go. He signed with WWE at exactly the wrong time. Had he waited another few months AEW would definitely have signed him and he would be a huge deal.

Yeah he definitely told Jericho he’d bash him publicly to get in AEW’s good books.

WWE will be furious with him even mentioning Jericho seeing as he doesn't exist any more.
