Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fair 'nuff. I was taking the 'or' option, rather than the 'and' option! :)

    Really just highlighting that the orange warning was/is justified (in particular for the naysayers who will be along later!).

    Mean winds going over 80 km/h often happens without a red warning. They only issue a red warning when gusts are also forecast to be greater than 130 km/h.

    Personally I think both thresholds are too low for the highest possible warning, but that's for another day maybe :P

    I'm at my parents in north/east Galway. Woken by the wind at half 8. Sustained wind is at a constant howl/whistle. Gusts sound sharp if that makes sense! The gusts aren't making a whistle, they arrive with like an instant bang. It sounds stronger than Abigail and Barney imo.

    It's very windy in Cork City with some serious gusts. I don't have any fancy gauges to go by so I just use the "bed gauge" - either stay there or get up - I'm staying there :D

    Calming down here in West Limerick. Gusts are much less frequent than an hour ago.

    Very short lived wind event but enough to make things interesting on the weather front.

    No reports of trees down so far, but given its a Sunday morning that's wet and windy I expect traffic volume is low. There may possibility a tree / bush or two down but not reported yet.

    Peaked on the west coast now. Should be peaking on the northwest coast over the next hour. Malin might report the highest gust at 10. Pity there's no station on Bloody Foreland.

    36 gust 53 kt at Sligo Airport and 30 gust 40 kt at Donegal Airport at 10 am. Pressure now rising again at both.

    35 gust 54 kt at Kerry Airport, which is inland, unlike the other two.

    You're right, my source actually has it 34 gust 57 kt. Not sure why it was incorrect earlier. (Edit: my mistake, a typo on my part!)

    Magilligan No.2 in Derry is 36 gust 57 kt at 10 am. Mace Head's highest 10-minute mean speed was 49 knots some time between 9 and 10 am.

    Nothing major here outside Newport, Mayo.
    A few gusts but nothing touching a warning level that's for sure.
    Rain on the other hand has been non stop this month. We have a stream running down the side of our garden(field) and I have never seen it move this fast or high.

    Wind peaked here near Tralee around 07.30 gusting to 82.1 kph ( at 6.5m ), avg 35 kph W. Still gusting over 60 kph and currently 10 min avg 26 kph.

    Bar has been climbing since 07.30 and Temperature dropping.

    11.1C atm

    Rainfall light enough here so far at 5.4mm sine midnight.

    I don't think it will. That seems to be it as far as Malin is concerned, according to the latest analysis. The strongest gradient is now in the North Channel and heading east. Behind it is nothing stronger.

    Fairly lively out still there but seems to be easing in a gradual way. Mean wind speed graph for here. Peaked at 25.9 kt at 8.30am and wavering between 18-23 kt since.

    Lots of rain for the last hour here in West Limerick.

    Came across a large tree down when out a while ago, so I expect that there are a few more horizontal around the area.

    Winds have died down a goid bit but still some nice gusts.

    I know this is a fast moving event. I was thinking of travelling to the Coca Cola truck in maynooth today. It's there until 9, any idea what time the worst winds will have cleared through Kildare?

    Actually the 06Z Hirlam picked up the localised hotspot at 11 am in the Dublin area quite nicely! It had it gone an hour later.

    925 hPa winds (and hence gusts) have peaked now and are moving eastwards. That is the end of Clodagh in these parts.
