Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, it doesn't look as nice as the s6 although hard to say with those shots.

I really like their hardware, it's a real shame that they make such a balls of the OS. If the customisation crap was optional I would get one right away.

What is this customisation crap you talk of?

Mad that Europe didn't get it but the likes of Australia and New Zealand did. I picked one up recently. Amazing piece of kit and a real shame you lot didn't get it..

Yeah, and of course the Note is way cheaper. I was going to get my sister in Aussie to pick one up for me. Think it was going to work out to only about €650, compared to €800+ for the edge+.

Not really surprised. I don't think HTC will either. I haven't seen any phones with both usb-c and quick charge

    S7 vs LG G5 poll...which one?
Spoiler: when I checked the G5 was ahead!

Haha actually the none of them option is ahead.

It will be an interesting battle ahead. The g5 will have the smaller battery and the bigger screen but the battery will be removable. Looking forward to seeing how these services perform with the snapdragon 820.

Yes but what are the alternatives? These will probably be the best 2 Android phone this half of the year.

The new nexus might be better in the second half, but that's a long way off.

Moto might be worthy a consideration, and don't discount the likes of Hauwai.

Still the S7 and G5 are the main talking points, they're my main interests anyhow.

    Yours?

    None of them!

I got the huawei gx8 as a stpgap measure until the note 6. Am very happy with it so no need to switch to either now.

But good to see Samsung dealing with the battery and SD card issue after the problems the s6 had.

Have a Note 2 here myself and still sing it's praises after 3.5 years.

Why are you keeping another thread going when there is a main thread for the s7 and edge you can take part in??

The S6 was lovely too. Nobody could really complain if it was basically an S6 with a proper battery.

Definitely not at all. I wasn't been snotty ha i said it on that other s7 thread its not a bad complaint that it looks alot like the s6 its one of the nicest looking phones ever made and apple keep their phone design for two years minimum too so it's nothing out of ordinary.

Yep definitely, if it works then it works. I've never held a nicer phone in my hand than the S6 Edge.

I've never tried the edge I've just got the flat I have it wrapped up in a case so I don't get the feel of it that often ha. They are nice tho.

The edge variants don't feel nice in hand at all. Having a flat back with reasonably sharp edges isn't ergonomic at all. I'm glad they've addressed it.

I know someone who has the galaxy s6 edge plus and one of his complaints was that when you had to type using letters on the edge it was uncomfortable he just preferred the flat phones like the s6

Posted this earlier but I think with the thread merge it was lost.

Has anyone purchased from Samsung uk store before and had it delivered by parcel motel?

The Irish Samsung site doesn't seem to have a store and if the leaks for the s7 price are as expected at 699, it may work out cheaper buying from the uk.

    Thanks

Buying direct from Samsung is rarely cheap. Why not just buy from Amazon?

Completely forgot about Amazon. :p that shall be my 1st stop. Thanks :)

Don't forget to price it across the various Amazon European websites.

You could try a website like http://www.curiua.com which will search them for you. However your milage may vary.
You might be better off trying them individually yourself.

    Amazon.fr
    Amazon.de
    Amazon.it
    Amazon.es
    Amazon.co.uk

Ah some basic questions I don't seem to be able to find the answers to in all the live blogs. If anyone has seen any of this info knocking around, I'd love to know.
    • Am I going to be able to get the free VR headset on contract
    • Am I going to be able to get the free VR headset in Ireland
    • How much is this actually gonna cost in euro

I'd say you probably will, depending on who you order with. Maybe not on contract with everyone, but if you pay full price for a device through Sammy, then probably.

You can buy the basic VR Gear right now for a bit over €100 anyway.

Thanks Basil. I was going to preorder or buy it fairly early anyway, first time in my life I have had enough disposable income to be a stupidly early adopter (although I usually tried to time contract renewals well) and I am looking forward to it. If it was gonna be say 50 quid more expensive from Samsung, but came with the VR, I'd do it.

I'd get about 800 to 900 bucks here in New Zealand for the Note 5. Another 200 or 300 bucks would get me a sim free s7 edge I'm thinking..

That's good value. I was going to buy the Note 5 in Aussie for $800 new. I might get my olds in NZ to check the price of S7 when it comes out, might be better value.

    S6 Edge+ is 5.7"

I'm not totally sold on the edge screen. I've given my S6 Edge + back to my Mrs, gone back to my HTC M9. The diagonal size of the edge screen is actually smaller, due to the pixels wrapping round, I reckon. i.e. the diagonal size is if the screen was flattened out (I think).
