I love the droop in the wings, same as the AN-26.

All traffic at DUB currently in the hold, looks like the wind went through 190 degrees to 160 to cause a tailwind on RWY28, DUB then switched ops to RWY10 before the wind swung back around again.

Currently traffic remaining in the hold as they are waiting for the lighting to switch back to RWY28 from RWY10. Anyone check the TAF?

They have now switched back again over to RWY10 (!)

The runway is closed every night between 7pm and 7:30pm for 20-30 minutes to switch to RWY10 for the works that are currently going on on the treshold of RWY28. It requires a full shut down of the airfield lighting and a restart of it also.

Emirates EK15 (A380) Dubai - Gatwick seems to be in a spot of bother. FR showed it flying loops around Kent and the south coast, presumably troubleshooting an issue. It's now climbed to FL190 and is currently flying north past Oxford, presumably enroute to Manchester.

This has turned out to be a quite a big incident in the end and is being investigated. More here

A lady passed away on this flight, hence the diversion.

Holding procedures in place at DUB at the moment (11:40), seems to be some kind of drone incident at the field

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,403 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

It's a confirmed drone sighting by DAA

"For safety reasons we are temporarily suspending flight operations at DublinAirport due the confirmed sighting of a drone over the airfield. Passengers should contact their airline's website for flight updates. We will post updates here when they become available."

Still closed, and an RTÉ news alert just arrived on my phone!

There was a drone sighting, however nothing spotted since so likely reopening soon.

Dublin airport closed due to sighting of a drone

DY1362 (OSL-DUB) diverting to Shannon if no update in the next 3 minutes. Several will follow to both Shannon and Aldergrove.

Rescue 15 told to "take their time" on the inspection, so doesn't look good.

Drone spotted from a "credible source", a pilot on the apron.

    EI651 (EIN65W) FRA-DUB diverting to Shannon.
    EI157 (EIN5JL) LHR-DUB diverting to Belfast Aldergrove.
    EI681 (EIN68K) GVA-DUB diverting to Belfast Aldergrove

Those using drones and laser lights - zero tolerance, jail and big fine.

Be grand if you are living in Limerick or Cork and were using Dublin Airport to come into Ireland.

Punishment needs to be harsh if the perpetrator is caught
