Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You buy levis for 20 quid out of a boot, genuine Levi's. But the point of sale is the issue.

It is. You just trying not to feel bad about it?

I've never bought one. But they are mainly leftover keys bought by colleges or corporations in bulk that would go to waste otherwise. Nothing shady about it.

And there's been Windows keys available at this price en masse on Ebay since at least Windows 7 came out in 2009 (possibly earlier too, can't remember), so it's not just "these days" it's been happening as you said grandpa. :pac:

It's more likely to have been acquired with a stolen credit card.

    Any proof of that?

You are making a lot of claims. Do you have any proof that the seller below has 'acquired' these licenses with a stolen credit card?

You... You think someone who stole a credit card's best method for making profit is to buy hundreds of Windows keys and sell them for next to nothing, rather than simply buying electronic goods (or even video game codes) and selling them at near RRP? Is this a serious comment?

Makes sense actually. Don't need to employ people to ship physical things around.

But all these windows keys are MSDN subscriber keys so yes they are pirated. Companies with volume licensing agreements don't have spreadsheets full of Codes that they're assigned by Microsoft which some office drone can steal and companies certainly aren't reselling them.

But you don't need to do that either if you sell video game codes at a much higher price. If you think the best method of making profit from a stolen credit card while staying undetected is to buy hundreds of Windows keys then I don't know what to tell you.

And they're not all MSDN keys. Many of them are OA keys, Partner Program keys or OEM refurb keys, and they're not necessarily pirated. It's a grey area rather than piracy. :)

Is it possible to get office from these eBay robin hood's? Heh heh. Seriously though, is that possible?

I managed to get a copy of Office Professional Plus 2019 for around a fiver. Works perfect, no trouble redeeming the code.

Ebay is used a lot for reselling things bought through stolen credit cards. It's a bit naive to think you are purchasing something legit, for less than 5% of its price. Why is the burden of proof on me?

Because you're suggesting that an Ebay seller who has been selling thousands of Windows 10 keys for about five years has been doing so with a stolen credit card. It doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.

And obviously the burden is on you if you are suggesting something is illegal, otherwise you wouldn't be able to sell anything on Ebay.

Seen a poster on the laptop forum say they specced one on Lenovo site for pretty much the same price as the offer.

How long does it take to get the keys delivered once you buy them? Ideally I would like to use them instantly, wouldn't want to get arrested for handling stolen goods or anything.

The keys should be sent to you within a few minutes of purchase. Lol no one is coming to arrest you for buying a software key from eBay.

I guess the deal is still there other than deselecting Windows 10 Home option gone, which was a saving for around €85 (€95 - 10% email signup).

Ah my bad, I was following the posts before where one guy seemed to suggest that the deal was over, and that poster replied saying they specced one for same price.

Have you checked your order? I ordered about two weeks ago aswell (AMD Ryzen) and my online order says it’s been released to manufacturing.

It had said it had been released to manufacturing, but I also got a delay email a few days after ordering. This morning I got the cancellation mail.

    UK store btw.

Order back a few weeks ago and then put a second order in a few days after for the same machine with a metal palm rest. Have shipping date for first one and can still cancel it but afraid to cancel it in case second one also gets cancelled. If the 2 ship I'm more than willing to offload the first at cost price to someone on here that missed out.
Spec was Rysen5 4500 with 16gb ram, 256GB HD, 70Wh battery, fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard. Will update ye once I know more on the orders.

"Unfortunately, the " ASSEMBLY IdeaPad 5 14IIL05 (1x)" you ordered is no longer available and as a result it was necessary to cancel it. We double checked with other warehouses, but sadly without success."

I opened a ticket as I had not got a ship date.
    Got the following reply:
Unfortunately the Metal C Cover that was included in your order don't have any supply yet. In that case, our relevant department is just advising you to cancel this order and transfer to ABS Cover.

I talked to Customer Support and their advice was to hold tough for a while as supply of parts can change on a daily basis.
I talked to Pre-Sales who said they cannot re-do a quote with ABS cover at the same price.

So, it's wait and see for now. At least they didn't cancel it ..... yet.

    Ordered throught ire store.

4500u, 256gb SDD, IPS display, plastic palm rest.

Are the orders that have been cancelled have the metal or plastic palm rest? There seems to be an issue with supply of the metal palm rest.

What spec? Did it say the part that was out of stock.

Just put in an order for one I had saved in my basket. It was too good a deal to turn down looking at benchmarks and reviews. Didn't have the option to spec the metal palm rest at the time hopefully it goes through.

YouTube review of the Lenovo said the opposite, performed quietly and well against a Dell XPS and a MacBook, both of which throttled. I wouldn't expect as much of Acer in that regard, generally more of a corner cutter. However in general it looks like AMD have been able to get partners to build better spec laptops all round this time. No doubt Dell will make one model available in Moldova with a dot matrix screen then use lack of sales to cancel their whole line. :-)
