Thats not true. I got the 4800u and my setup has the TN screen:

    Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 4800U Processor (1.80GHz, Max Boost up to 4.20GHz, 8 Cores, 8MB Cache)
    Operating System - Free-DOS
    Operating System Language - Free-DOS
    Memory - 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Onboard
    First Hard Drive - 1TB Hard Drive, 5400RPM, 2.5", 7mm
    Second Hard Drive - 256GB Solid State Drive, M.2 2242, PCIe-NVMe, TLC
    Display - 15.6" FHD (1920x1080), TN, Anti-glare, 3.2mm Thickness, 250nits, Narrow bezel
    Graphic Card - Integrated Graphics
    Color - Graphite Grey
Keyboard - Keyboard Iron Grey English (UK)
Camera - 720p HD Camera with Array Microphone
    Surface Treatment - Anodizing
    Palmrest - PC/ABS
    Battery - 3 Cell Li-Polymer Internal Battery, 45Wh

    Wireless - Wi-Fi 6 2x2 AX, Bluetooth Version 5.0 or above
    Language Pack - Publication-English

Apologies, my bad, I'll edit my post, too long looking at various specs, I went with the 4500 processor and didn't have a TN option

Yeah, screen quality isn't a big deal for me because I'll be connecting my laptop to a docking station like 80% of the time. I'm happy with the TN for the limited use the screen will get

should probably pick at least an IPS option for better viewing angles and contrast. and you want the 300 nits brightness for sure. 250 is not great / looks dark.

the most expensive non-touch IPS option has reasonable colour-accuracy for those doing photo or video editing.

Just configured and added to basket €473. Mighty! Went to pay and page refreshed and it bumped it €100. Went back into config and the MS OS 10 option is no longer available to deselect.:mad::mad::mad:

Anyone with a config in their cart since yesterday should be able to checkout without Windows 10 as long as they don't try to edit the spec. Just in case you decided to sleep on it.

Looks like they closed the door on the ‘naked OS’ option. That was the real sweetener.

And added the metal palmrest in as an option too!

Any idea what ports come with it? Can't see them listed as part of the config.

Thankfully that’s what happened to me. I was on the fence since Friday and left it in my cart. Managed to check out this morning with the max spec (without windows).

    Phew!!

Not as good a bargain anymore now that you have to select it with windows.

Video review comparing it to a Dell XPS and a MacBook Air. This is looking like a really excellent machine and a brilliant bargain for anyone who managed to get it with the full discounts and no Windows.

This Lenovo Ideapad 5 15 is called (联想小新15 2020), you can copy those words and search on Youtube for a closer look at the laptop, in Chinese though.

Used 2 different email ids, no sign of the email yet. Does it take long?

    Really?

    Why??

I bought Think Pad E in their last sale in Feb, older Ryzen 7, it only comes on when charging.

They pulled the Free-Dos option last night around midnight on the UK and Ireland websites.
Its still available on the mainland European websites though.
