I had the higher end Ryzen chip in my config and I was on the fence about it for video editing/encoding.

And the advice I got from Glasso on here and my own research means that this machine is highly capable (I’ll be using it more for HD delivery)

seems strange that they would remove the "no windows" option

maybe Redmond had a quiet word with them....

Because they were losing a fortune on non-loaded configs :)

redmond would still end up on there, most of the price was lenovo having to put it there so it wouldn't be redmond.

Windows 10 keys can be bought legit very cheaply online

Lenovo are charging €100 for the pleasure of having it pre-installed

    Or there is always Linux

Where would you recommend for this?

I went for the regular adapter over the USB-C in order to get the other through (it wouldn't let me order with it)

Can I actually use one of my USB-C phone cables to charge this?

I'm speculating a bit here, but I think the answer is yes, but slowly.
The USB C charger that comes with it is 95w, the regular charger is 65w?
Most phone chargers are 5w or 10w, with the fastcharge / quickcharge variants hitting 25 & 18 watts.
Numbers might be slightly off, but I think that's the jist.

    This.

you could slow charge while it's turned off. It probably wouldn't carge quick enugh to let you use it while charging.

How do you think this machine would perform for games like Microsoft Flight Sim or X-Plane? Specifically wondering about the "Integrated Graphics". When customising the laptop I didn't see any option to select alternative graphics.

that pending charge has disappeared, but the money hasnt gone out.

I would not buy this if I was doing to spend any time in those games. It will be better than Intel integrated graphics but you really need a gaming laptop with a proper gfx card.

They dont charge the credit card for the full amount until closer to shipping the product it seems.

Yea, that's how it works with Lenovo.

Similar thing happening with a lot on HUKD I think. Seems a normal process. Pending charge was just to test the card, that automatically goes back off after a bit, then no charge til they actually ship it. That's the jist I got from the HUKD forum anyway.

Don't work. The pending charge disappears after 6 days if not collected. They'll take the money again before shipping.

Where? Its 145 from Microsoft. I doubt many actual legitimate keys can be got for much cheaper than 100.
