    It's Ian McDimwit

Ken laughing at Lampard is the highlight of the week so far.

Highlight for me was kens disgust at eoin admitting to reading a book when he wakes up.

Gerry Thornley used to annoy me, now he amuses me.

Has Sharon Horgan wearing a Second Captains t-shirt on Catastrophe been mentioned in the thread yet?

She has worn it few times in the series. Helping her brother Mark out!

    They are one talented family

I've never watched a single American football match in my life, but I still love the US murph chats about it. It says a lot about Murph and US Murph that they can make it interesting for me.

If I can learn the rules before the superbowl, I reckon I'll watch it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

NFL is so polished as a sport. I mean its obviously very commercialised, but the player recruitment system, phasings and tournament structures are all fairly streamlined to look good to the tv viewer.

And at the moment its realatively easy to watch it without incurring a tv subscription. Ive only really started watching in the past year or two, but its a refreshing escape from some of the more negative and boring aspects of soccer in the PL.

Fairly comprehensive highlights for each game are up on YouTube by the time you wake up the following morning, and the rules are fairly easy to get a hang of (again YouTube is your man for explainers on how it works).

That show has actually been out for a few years, I noticed it a good few months ago when I first watched it. She also was "at herself" whilst wearing a second captians tshirt in one scene, which was a bit bizarre.

Watch the NFL show on BBC after Match of the Day. It's half an hour long and helps fill in the gaps (did for me anyway). I think it's on this week, and will probably show all the incidents Murph talked about yesterday.

BBC NFL + US Murph (both on SC & Murph & Mac podcast) is a brilliant combination.

Also i dont know if its just me getting caught up in the hype, but that Maholmes guy is a very exciting player to watch.

Tom Brady does all the right things and makes the good calls by %s, but Maholmes pulls rabbits out of the hat and makes amazing plays when you least expect it.

Was gutted they didnt make the superbowl!

If anyone listens to Bill Burr they'll remember Bill talking about how good Tony Romo is about analysing games. Bill made a big point a couple of times about how well Romo was at explaining things and knowing what's going to happen ages a few months back. Old Billy ballbag called it

Was watching it live, Romo knowing exactly what they were going to do was brilliant.

Hearing that Eoin McDevitt was off for "a couple of weeks" upset me far more than it should have. I'm a grown man FFS.

I thought Steven Reid came across well but I agree, too many of the 'players chair' are same-y

    How's the family?

Murph twice using the phrase "served up" yesterday when talking to the tennis lady. Face-palm.

I love the pods with Tony Evans it is really refreshing to hear first hand information from someone who stood on the terraces in the old days and witnessed the transformation of both British football and society. Really good stuff.

The line by Ken "Sure yer man Pochitchino says that winning trophies is just for w*nkers" :D (or words to that effect)

That LOI/Daily Mail journo irritates me on Miguel Delaney levels. Not a fan.

Hope they use David Snyed more for the Irish football scene. Dion fanning has his own pod now so let him run his mouth on that and leave Mr. answer a question with a question on the players chair.
