I got sms with the text below: Your Huawei claim has been received and will be checked by one of our agents. The outcome of your claim will be communicated to you by email.

Yeah got that text first and 30 seconds later got the validated text.

Same here was awake at around 2am and it got validated straight away. Was quite surprised.

I think I clicked not sms, email only. I did it at about 12:05

I have just got a validation email with a link to an information page. The page is the exact same as the Samsung galaxy s10 buds preorder page. If it's the same company doing it we'll either be waiting 6 weeks or we'll get 2.

I see Three are only offering the P30 Black. Do you think this will change to all colours soon ?

They only ever had black and breathing crystal originally so I doubt they'll get the red or blue one, not sure though.

Is it okay to use the 40w charger on other devices like the S9 and also use the S9 charger on the p30 pro? I'm guessing it should be fine, just won't get the fast charging

Can somebody post a link to claim the speaker please? The co.uk one isn't working for me, it doesn't recognise my eircode or phone number.

    Hey everyone,

Accidentally scratched the screen protector on my P30. Anyone know where I could get a spare? Tried Carphone Warehouse in Cork but they don't seem to have any. Was thinking it might be too soon to have them in a brick and mortar shop.

    Thanks

A couple of weeks in I can safely say, this camera is amazing. I wouldn't even bother bringing my SLR out for normal shots anymore. And the EMUI software which a lot of people had problems with is fine. Anyone use the private space feature? I don't use it, but set it up for the laugh, holy fúck, that's an unbelievable feature for leading a double life/porn collecting

Try no eircode. might be configured to accept uk post codes

TBH, I would never get any thing like that in a bricks and mortar shop. I'd be surprised if they had anything, and if they did it's probably about 10 times the price of online. Cables, spare chargers, cases and memory cards always seem to be way over priced in bricks and mortar shops

Fully agree! In my case, I stupidly removed the protector because it was annoying me...then realised I didn't have a spare! Ordered a new one online, hopefully won't take too long to arrive...and that the screen remains scratch free in the meantime :)

still 50/50 on getting this....and of you got any negatives to report ?
i seen a youtube saying how its very aggressive with saving battery and killing background apps, seeminly apps like whatsapp not receiving messages until its woke up, and even if you take it out of the battery saving list it goes back into it after a while....is that right ?

I haven't any problems with whatsapp notifications after I turned off auto management. It's fine with any other apps I have set to manual as well. Only negatives so far for me are the display quality and size/weight. Neither of these are deal breakers for me and the amazing pics and battery life more than make up for it.

One thing I noticed when making a duo call or whatever on the p20 Pro is auto makes a screen in screen, not so with the p30 pro

has anyone got theres from 3 ?....and if so, did you get a software update...400-odd mb....with camera optimisations ?
also reading on reddit a lot of users reporting lens flare on any lights in photos...anyone here have that ?
oh...and...have any of you put tempered glass on ?..if so, which one ?
thanks in advance for any replies.

Got my phone from 3 on 5th April, got the update on 8th April build 9.1.0.124.

Using an LK screen protector film, not glass as i cant seem to find a reputable one that attaches to the screen without rendering the finger print scanner useless.

Now that you mention it any photos I've taken with street lights have a fair bit of lens flair in them, doesnt bother me though.

I'm assuming you got it then! No notification issues with me, they all work fine once you turn them to manual in the battery optimisation settings. That big update from three was a few days after release, only thing I noticed was notifications appeared on the AOD, they didn't before. That was a welcome update. I have no noticeable lens flare in photos but I don't have many photos in dark places with bright lights. Almost all my photos are outside.

Good overview of the phone here:

thanks both....no i havent got it....but i definitely have an itch to get it...at end of my current contract.....wee fella on my shoulder telling me to wait to see what mate 30...or samsung note 10..will be like.....i also have my current samsung s8+ that now will only cost me 20 euros payg.
still...a definite itch for this p30 pro though...looking at all the youtube reviews, and i went into 3 shop and was smitten with it..but you dont get to try it out properly as its attached to the stand its on and cant be lifted up to play with camera.

I went from the S8 to this. This is a huge improvement. It all depends on what you want, a good camera is the most important thing for me by a distance, then a good battery. I had 2 samsungs in a row so wanted something different.
Here's a couple photos I took in Lansdowne Road on Saturday.

    great.
yes...important things to me are...a good camera.. a big screen...a good battery.
i wonder how i could live with no headphone jack and some youtube reviews say speaker is low.
i have no interest in screen resolutions as high as samsung s10 or 4k recording.

also...before this s8+ i was always a note user and i actually did make use of the s-pen...photo editing and such....so its in my head to maybe wait for the note 10 to see what it brings....but the p30 pro is so tempting right now

another thing that makes me pause is marques brownlee on youtube making the point of no dedicated night mode...it uses night mode in auto in dark environments....and he was saying some lower light photos either come out not brightened..or too bright.....is that right ?....no dedicated night mode ?

considering upgrading to the P30 Pro and wondering has anyone ordered this in breathing crystal from three? Wondering roughing how long delivery took to arrive as it says ships in 15 days online.

There absolutely is dedicated night mode, what he's saying and a few other reviewers have mentioned too is when taking pics in the standard AI(auto) mode it sometimes picks the night option when you might get a better pic in standard mode. I think to force standard mode photos you need to go into pro mode to stop the AI taking control. Maybe there's another way but I've been very happy with how the AI is working out so far

Nice shots. Were they taken in full-auto mode or did you play with saturation / colour balance after you snapped them?

Have been flipflopping in my mind between P30 Pro and S10+ ... even though the P30 Pro cameras are definitely better technically, in all the reviews online I find myself preferring the colour balance etc from the Samsung - the P30 Pro shots sometimes seem either slightly dull/washed out or have highlights like the sky blown out cos of lower dynamic range.

Full auto mode, just took the phone out of my pocket and zoomed out to wide angle. One I slightly adjusted the angle afterwards cos I had to tilt the camera to get the stand above me out of the shot.

I'm in the exact same boat too. Lookong at VF's upgrade options the 10+ and P30 Pro look to be the only ones worth bothering with. Leaning toward the Samsung at the moment as nearly everything I've read and watched said it's the better overall device to use, but if I do then I know part of me will regret not getting the camera on the Huawei.

I was in that boat too!
Went for P30 Pro and am happy with it.
I would have went for the S10+ if we got a snapdragon SoC in the EU but it wasn't to be.
They are both good choices in fairness, if I was buying one again now I'd probably go for the cheapest/best value option.
I do think the Pro would have the edge on battery life vs the exynos if that's a big factor.
