Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Finally got the plates for my car, they look well happy with them but may screw them on now.. tape I got is a bit **** and back one is off again. Have double sided 3M will give that a shot.

When putting them on needed to clean the bumper and old adhesive off so just gave the whole car and wheels a full wash and quick tyre dressing for tyres and trim.... The day before I took it to Mondello....

Needless to say he car is dirty again complete with lots of rubber and bugs stuck to the front and wheels... Really should have just wiped down the licence plate spot... waste of time :pac::pac:

Its great that they got rid of the dreadful 120xxx for Dublin imports. That number looks a million times better

I'll agree with you there but I do like them :p The metal plates came bare so needed a plastic backing to protect the paint. I like them more than a plain black one or dealership ones.

I'll accept the slagging for it:D:rolleyes:

The 120xxx was only ever for cars 2010 and older. 2011 and later always had the next number in the sequence. Same for every other county, like Cork is 40xxx etc.

Have been dailying this now for 2 years today, still absolutely in love with it, few bits of tidying yet to do including replacing those trash generic mats that have been in it since I bought it :o

Thanks, appreciate it, although I cannot take the credit for it. I imported it last June as is. Previous owner who now sits in an F82 M4, spec'd it well from factory to start with. Then the carbon fibre M Performance goodies (and wheels) were fitted by Bavarian upon delivery from factory.

Hahahahaha, thankfully them flashy stalk things were spec'd so it'd be an easier jump for you :P

No more nails tape (red one). Never once let me down. Clean down the surface your mounting the plates too (degrease, then alcohol wipe) same for the back of the plates. Then place approx. 2" strips across the back of the plates top to bottom at equal intervals. You can pickup a roll in any decent office suppliers or Woodies / B&Q have it on occasion.

If you wanted to keep the clean look, you can get plate surrounds that have a proper backing. You screw the surround onto the bumper and the plates then fits into it. I have this on my own car:

Not to everyone's taste but if you don't want to drill holes and put screws through the plate, this is a good option.

Picked her up Saturday morning, told it was the first sold in the country? Lovely bangs and pops from the exhaust. Baseline 20i but plenty of go for me.

Not quite as nice a the new Z4, but still a gorgeous motor.

    478647.jpg

420i GC Sport Auto. Interior is a bit disappointing as it's older tech than the X1's I've been in for the past few months.

My grey X1 was sold a couple of weeks ago, so been driving another X1 but someone is interested in that, so dropped it this morning and collected this - only until early next week, but have a manufacturer demo coming in for a few weeks.

Picked this up on Tuesday after being locked up in storage for 8 years. A 1993 Renault 19 RSi saloon with 49k miles.

So far this week it's had a new rad, new fan motor, full service, timing belt and water pump, brakes freed up and a new battery fitted. Tomorrow it gets new tyres. Last thing it needs is a new wing and indicator then it's NCT time.

Its filthy and had a few dents but will be nice and usable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,011 ✭✭✭high horse

I remember those Renault 19s having really nice seats with very high bolsters. Any photos of the interior?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 889 ✭✭✭morritty

We had one back in 2002, a 95 1.4 bacarra. I haven't sat in a more comfortable car seat since. Well wear BA, glad you finally found one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,617 ✭✭✭ba_barabus

Cheers guys, I'll get some interior pics later when it's cleaner. It's got the heavily bolstered bucket seats alright. Not had a chance to go too far in it yet. New tyres going on today. Then I need to find a new wing and indicator to complete it.

Had her down in Killarney last week, now in the South East. Just love the combination of power and economy, over 800km to a tank with 313bhp, I don't know how BMW do it. 2 year warranty will be up end of this year and already thinking of a remap and a possible suspension upgrade (bilstein shocks with eibach springs maybe). Will ensure I don't get bored of it.

A mighty car indeed...you can usually extend your warranty if you want for a reasonable fee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,644 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

How much to fill the tank but does sound very good for what it is....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,432 ✭✭✭Wailin

70 litre tank, it will do 550 (890km) miles of motorway. Drops significantly on short trips in fairness as do most cars.
