Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've seen more 747's and MD11's on FR in Irish airspace than I have anything from Ryanair. Nuts.

My heart goes out the the passengers and crew aboard the Dash 8-200 that's doing the three hour flight between CPH and KEF (and back) daily. Three hours in a Dash 8!

You forgot the time zone difference between Denmark and Iceland; it's actually not far short of five hours!

RYR19 to Barcelona just flew over my house.

Wondered the same -there can't be many stranded tourists left, surely?

Cargo, maybe? Or are they just flying empty planes around the place?

Air Corps new PC12. I believe it is on a short lease. Will be used to move troops, medics, medical gear and patients around the country if needed over the next while. Also in to give new pilots hands on experience with their new type rating.

Seems to be down now, came in very low overhead here an approach to Casement, much lower than the usual, touch and go and then landed.

    Edit: Still going around actually.

Incorrect. It is not on lease. Don't let the civil paint scheme confuse you.

Purchased outright and on the military register. It's in addition to the three already purchased.

I read elsewhere that it's carrying only essential goods and medical personnel.

It's also flying on from Keflavik to Nuuk in Greenland where necessary (It's an Air Greenland aircraft).

    Quite the trip!

    Nice /s.
A CIA-linked plane with possibilities for being involved in rendition flights, as well as fun CIA activities around the globe.

My ADSB listener station was able to track it to the end of the runway, and amusingly it's reporting altitude was well underwater..

You don't happen to know if it's parked on the apron or has it left already? Might spin by with the young lad if it's out.

Aircraft transponders report altitude referenced to a standard atmospheric pressure of 1013hPa, it’s 1028hPa at Shannon, so sea level is roughly 450ft below zero on that standard pressure.

I tried relistening to the broadcast - it was not clear, but they asked Tower if it was OK to break off the approach around 7 miles out.

The plane didn’t even have its landing gear down, I wonder did he have a problem? Nothing on the runway that I could see (on fr)

That should be an A330, ex-Atlas Global. Another one left a few days ago for Rio.

The AN225 delivered the medical supplies to Warsaw this morning. There was a camera in the flight deck for the last 16 minutes of the flight.

Jebus, that was a short final. He was still turning onto the centreline crossing the motorway. The Ukrainians love a tactical approach. Fantastic. Sounds like the pilot is pulling G's just before touchdown. Very laboured breathing.

Any reason why he did a flyover first, just checking out a new runway?? Just interested, I am not very familiar with aviation matters, but have a lot of time on my hands these days :-)

I presume that with the wing wave (you can see it banking left and right during the flyover, and it's very clear from the outside view), it was just an overflight for the crowds that would no doubt have been gathered. It's the largest aircraft in the world, and has been grounded for quite a while for maintenance. There's only one flying, and it's uniqueness gets it huge attention wherever it goes. Probably the first time into Poland, so a wave hello.

I saw it arrive and depart from Shannon a few years ago and it's beyond impressive close-up. Totally unique sound and it's take-off looks so slow and ponderous with a very flat climb-out. Hopefully it will visit us again.

Is it similar or far bigger than the Antonov that stopped off in Shannon last week for refueling on its way to New York with emergency medical supplies.?

Looks like it's descending for either Shannon or Dublin, Near Athlone now, and still not clear which of the 2 it's going for, though it's looking more like Dublin
