Beautiful bright day with blue skies out on the Aran Islands today (before it all goes pear shaped tomorrow..).

Yes, this is the type of weather we have been having in west Connemara for the past week - bright sunny days with blue skies. Feels cold in the early mornings and late evenings though. Serious soil moisture deficit in this part of the country - we have had little or no rainfall for the past three weeks.

Yup if the media says the weather is shhhit it means its fair in the West. I told my parents in May "well after this dry May (in the West) June will be a writeoff. Late July and August will have more chance of good weather" At this stage Id say even September might be a Summer month. No 2018 though Id imagine June is the wettest Summer will get. For Sligo I still predict June 150mm (currently 56mm) July 90mm August 60mm September 70mm

definitely feeling noticeably milder today compared to recent times, a few drops of rain every now and then but we've lost the bitter cold conditions thankfully.

Cool and wet in Castlebar, our mean temperature for the month is currently hovering just above 11C and it looks like it will be the 4th month in a row that monthly rain levels will be higher compared to the same periods last year.

Very dark sky to the South West approaching Galway any chance of sparks just starting to rain

Feels milder today but with showers.

Just watching farming forecast from met eireann. We have had 200% of normal rainfall levels in East in last week as we know! Also temperatures have been 2.5 degrees below average.

Looks like temperatures will finally pick up next week! Not looking like 20 degrees but late teens will do at this stage with some dry weather.

actually it does not. rather the opposite as it means weather patterns are totally disrupted and out of synch //which they surely are

Forecast on RTE looks mostly promising away from the west and north with mostly dry and sunny conditions across the east and south, with temperatures nudging above the mid teens for the first time in a long time.

Next weekend is looking decent across all the country and should hopefully stay dry.
