Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Cooker related trivial happy stuff

Recently I turned on cooker(electric) and the hob for to wait until temperature was hot enough to heat up a tin of soup. Proceeded to make a sandwich. About 3-5 minutes later I looked and saw that there was an empty saucepan on the by now hot hob.

Later that day I went to heat up one of them lasagnes in a plastic box in the cooker. I took off the plastic type strip of paper on top of the container and put it in the cooker, but forgot to remove the plastic box in which the tinfoil encased lasagne was enclosed.

    It doesn't rain.... :)

But why should such things derive any happiness.

    * The underside of the saucepan was still the same colour and hadn't burnt.
    * The plastic box ended up a bit warped and was sort of stuck to the shelf, but wasn't melted into it.

So even though two defeats were incurred losses were zero/negligible. Sometimes lack of a bad thing is a good thing :D

Just topped up the family debit card, the stragglers back to work on monday.

Two Star Trek films on the telly box to watch in a house that will be quite for 9 whole hours, now all I have to do, is decide if I want Mcdonalds or supermacs handed to me.

Electrician fitted a binary lightswitch 3 months ago to replace the botched dimmer switch we had, and ever since, both our spare room light and bathroom light never came back on. New lightbulbs did nothing.

Got a lad out this morning and he found out the last guy got two wires mixed up, fixed them today, now every light in the house works :D

I just got a notion to put on the Galway City Webcam and it's a good warm-hearted feeling to see people milling about the main street. But on the other side of the coin it poses another question, need, what is the need of all this, surely COVID has shown us we don't need to be out shopping! Where are all these people going?!? At 2 o' clock on a Week-day Wednesday afternoon! It's a constant continuous stream of people up and down the town!:D

Ah I just did the same and that's cheered me right up! Hello Galway, what's the craic?!

Work is a pit of stress and bs right now but it's 30 degrees in London so I've closed my laptop and sitting in the garden with a can of diet coke and a book. Far too fine out to be sitting in front of a laptop tearing my hair out.

I told my Dad yesterday about the Galway live webcam and he called me from town this morning, "I'm outside Griffins bakery, can you see me on the cam?" I logged in and there he was waving like a madman in front of Taffe's pub :D:D:D:D

Cheered me right up, I miss my dad!

In a discussion about a recently updated strategy game I play, someone said "Portugal are still doing Portugal things". I found this highly amusing for some reason.

I was just about to post about this.

Was in a chalet in a Pontins holiday camp in England watching it.

Jumping around when Packie saved as if we'd won...then remembering we had a penalty. Dave O'Leary walking up to take the pen to win it. Dave O'Leary? He places the ball...seems to take forever..walks back....here goes............the net ripples.

Listening to Easy Fm and they played Dont Marry Her from the Beautiful South. except they played the album version that goes
"Don't marry her, f*ck me" instead of "Don't marry her, have me" and "sweaty bollocks" instead of "Sandra Bullocks"

The segment on comic relief last night, with hozier and the strings section in croker, so beautifully lit and the closing shot of the view over the stadia towards the bay.

I was both in tears and has hairs stand up on my arms.

I just got some mad vibrations (literally) on my left wrist from my health monitor-watch-thing. I assumed I was having a heart attack but am trivially happy to announce that it was just telling me that its power was gone. On Friday, it reminded me that I was down to 10% so it's my own fault. :D

That leap into the air that Packie does, is just such a moment of sheer happiness.

Trivially happy to be indoors on a day of such bleak weather, drinking coffee and feeling cosy.

That my courgette plants have set fruit. Everything in my garden is practically torn to shreds by the fcuking hurricanes we've been having over the past week or two so I'm delighted that these have not just survived, but are thriving :)

    Don’t judge me.
I’m delighted Micheál Martin is Taoiseach.
Not for any political leanings I have.
But because I actually quite fancy him. I think he has a lovely smile and twinkly eyes. There’s been a bit of talk online about how hot his son is and while I think the young fella is nice, his Da is a lot ridier if you ask me.

As I said, don’t judge me.
