Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For a fiver you can't go wrong. It's no world-bearer, but ut certainly does me.

There's a merlot for the same price called Grapevine and it's also grand stuff if you're looking for a bit of variety..

Anyone ever buy the 6 pack bottles of 500ml rheinbacher in Aldi I find them very similar to lidls perlenbacher.

€7.49 for 6 rheinbacher 500ml bottles in Aldi kinda similar price to lidls perlenbacher, apart from when lidl do the great xxl 8 for 8 euro is it.

I find them both fine and similar, the rheinbacher is 4.9%alc

It's kind of back to the future.
    They are half pint bottles.
All bottles were either a half pint or a pint years ago.
Once you know what you are buying it's ok.

Yes very similar, and a cheap way to get pissed. Yes the XXL stuff is the biz, but the other two alternatives you mentioned are absolutely fine too.

Last time I had the Rheinbacher I found it a bit rough and really fizzy, but that was a really long time ago as well. The Perlenbacher, even the normal every day 6-pack x 500ml they do, is actually surprisingly decent.

As someone who does a yearly booze cruise to France which wasn't possible this year, I'm leaning heavily on kooliburra reserve Shiraz from aldi. At €4.99 a pop and 14% volume, it ain't half bad. Good reviews on vivino also

Myself and the missus had one of the Kooliburra's recently. Was absolutely SHOCKED when told it was a fiver. Although I'm admittedly not a wine-afficionado, I found it a very nice little number.

Have you tried the pale/blond varieties?
They are completely different beers to the original Smithwicks.

I love the blonde. It’s my favourite drink. I’ve got my own personalised swithwicks blonde glass aswell. When things start opening again would def recommend the smithwicks tour in Kilkenny.

Monday for Tesco, Dunnes is normally Monday.

The tesco slab deals as you say run until monday (1/6).i have a delivery ordered for monday, should i change it to sunday or are the slab deals actually available on the monday?

  • Registered Users Posts: 456 ✭✭Ben Done

    Caution:

Slabs of Bulmers (30 before voucher) in Dunnes, are only 440ml.

I'm not that bothered as I got vouchers free off a colleague, - 2x10 off 50, and 1x5 off 20, but just fyi.

Litres of Smirnoff were 25 before voucher, so cheaper than Tesco if you've got vouchers.

The last bank holiday the slab deal finished on the Sunday. The date was for the offer to stop on the Monday but I was in Tesco on the Monday and the prices were back up. They often stop their deals before the end of the deal date, so better to be safe than sorry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,088 ✭✭✭Reputable Rog

Tesco had any 8 for 10 on Bulmers cans last Sunday.
    Toro centanaro Malbec €7 Tesco.
