Without wanting this thread to generate into relentless smut, can anyone offer a sociological/psychiatric reason as to why Lesbians use dildos?

Homosexuals are attracted to the same sex obviously, so how can a lesbian pleasure herself or her partner using a plastic replica of male genitalia, something which they identify as being unattracted to? It strikes me as paradoxical.

"I am attracted to women yet use plastic imitations of the penis to pleasure my sexual partner"

It just seems odd or contradictory to me.

I doubt lesbians are lesbians just for the sex, its probably more to do with the person they want to be with/love or the companion that they prefer. Lesbians still have needs!

I find that strange. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. How can you let something that you are not attracted too in you?

I find my girlfriend to be hugely attractive and I equally find her body, vagina etc incredibly attractive.
