Well it was Christianity that invented Satanism after all, good work there!!

Good answer. Now how come you wont carry about a large wooden cross?

The practice of wearing crosses around the neck dates from the early church. The precise reason why Christians began wearing crosses has to do with martyrdom, specifically beheading. In the early centuries of the church, when many Christians were put to death as a result of confessing belief in Christ, the most common way to die (sometimes following a series of tortures) was by beheading. The wearing of the cross about the neck (and keep in mind that the cross would usually have been tucked in where nobody could see it) was a reminder to the wearer of the kind of confession he or she may be asked to give. It was also a symbol that the wearer was willing to give that kind of confession—-that the wearer would indeed confess Christ even to the point of beheading or any other kind of martyrdom.

There was a famous t-shirt years back from an extreme english metal band. While I enjoy some similar music I have not time for this band in particular but their t-shirt was rather blasphemous..........just google "COF offensive T-shirt"

Its the one with a nun on the front...oh and it may offend you so this is just a little warning about it!!

Once you have had a look at it, tell me would you mind if your colleague wore that to work with you? Its obvious anti-christian as the band in question have a rather Satanic outlook if only for shock tactics!!

My whole point is I will not hide my faith by hiding a cross I wear. People who mock or offend my faith... that's another issue. Generally I will discuss with them ,if it is going down that route ,or if the person is not the discussion type, simply ignore them. It is more with eyes of pity I look upon that person and I will pray for them. This is talking from past experience.

That bit in bold above.........what a novel idea!!

Oh and the practice of wearing a cross was about long before the Christian church stole the idea!

Anyway here is a little something I found online.....

During His New Testament ministry, Jesus taught His followers to display their spirituality through their actions and deeds (Matthew 5:16). Under the New Covenant, ushered in by Christ, God's laws are to be written on our hearts—that is, in our minds (Hebrews 8:10; 10:16). People who truly practice the Christianity of the Bible stand out as beacons of light in a spiritually darkened society because of the way they live. They have no need to wear external signs like a cross to identify themselves as Christian.

How did that work out for you/them? Did the prayers work in this past experience of yours?

I agree we have no need to do so but we can if we want. Also the bit you bold typed about tucking the cross in, this was because they were being beheaded for being Christian.

    Yes on 2 occasions.

The irony is that it is highly unlikely, if not physically impossible for Jesus to have been crucified in the manner depicted and equally unlikely that he carried his own cross to his execution. Wood was a scarce commodity in the area and the Romans were not in the business of making bespoke crosses for every offender they decided to crucify on any given day.
I've no problem with people wearing religious symbols or dress if it makes them happy but have to agree that it's a personal choice and not a right.

Are you comparing an ancient global religion with billions of believers to a made up satirical "god" by atheists to poke fun of religious people?

Scientology is as real to its followers as the christian faith is to its followers, do you also mock that?

What about the Mormon faith, do you think Smith's story actually happened? Once again its a very very real faith to its followers.

    Yes on 2 occasions.

Can you elaborate how your prayers directly helped these people?

Are you yearning to know God?

Is this hostile manner a smokescreen, hiding your inner need?

Its hostile to ask for proof of how praying actually had a physical effect?

Are you that fearful of questions?

Even if you were serious, what would someone else's unsupported claims mean to the seeker?

I don't mock Mormons or Scientologists, I have studied the Book of Mormon and Dianetics. Let me ask you this, can you see a difference between a real religion people believe in and a fake religion no one believes in set up by atheists to mock and bash religious people? If you answer this genuinely, you will have your answer.

No. Neither the old nor the new claims of a divine being can be effectively falsified. That's the whole point. They are not truth claims insofar as the claimant has any legitimate knowledge of their truth or falsity, and they can neither be proven nor disproven unless they contradict themselves (that internal contradiction happens to be true of most versions of the Christian narrative, by the way).

Alas satanism is alive and well in today's society.

But I will not bow to Secular elitism by concealing my cross.

Could you explain what exactly secular elitism is please?

I refer to the self agrandising of people without religious faith.

Many have a mocking and deriding tone when communicating ith religious believers.

They put themselves on an intellectual pedastel.

I've heard the term used as a pseudo-scientific way to say, "The big mean secular people are persecuting us little helpless Christians". Because as everyone knows, the Christians are a tiny sect of wackos that nobody in the world takes seriously and has no influence on public affairs at all, at all. Poor disadvantaged Christians. So sad.

Generally people behaving in such a manner no matter what the subject area have insecurities and this masks it.

    No

If "god" chats to you then you're not crazy

If Elvis talks to you then you are.

But what if "god" talks to you in an Elvis voice?

    Mind Blown!

I ask this in all seriousness, why should anyone believe you when you make a claim to know something about the unknowable, let alone a claim that contradicts the official documentation?

How do you tell the difference between the two in bold?

    Why was Christianity set up?

They all have the same idea behind them, a belief of a creator and rules to live life by. It is not my place or yours to be mocking of a person who believes in the FSM by calling it a joke religion. If a person finds comfort in the FSM as their god why claim its a joke but yet accept a giant man in the clouds as legit?

A problem only comes about when a religion starts controlling non believers lives, this applys to all faiths, be it Jewish, Muslim, Christian, FSM, Mormon etc.

Once the catholic faith stops trying to control our health system, education system etc I have no problem with it. Until then I will be critical of it showing up its many many flaws and abuses.

No one believes in this fake religion FSM, it's a form of satire by atheists to mock and bash religious people.

Is that supposed to be your idea of a refutation? We don't believe in your imaginary friend that you use to mock and bash people who don't buy into your cult, either.

Giant? I think you are getting confused with Jack and the Beanstalk.
