    If someone took her.

I personally think the child died following an accident. I don't think they killed her. I don't believe she was abducted.

I know this theory. I don't think it was like this. I hope it wasn't like this. In the end I don't know and you don't know either.

I'd agree with all of that except that Madeline is the one who has paid (or is even still paying) the highest price.

I meant they're paying the highest price that they can pay for their actions.

I can't bear to think of the price Madeleine paid, or continues to pay.

Where's the 'I have no idea. I'm not privy all the pertinent information. I only know what the tabloids print' option in the poll?

Why would you hope it wasn't that? If she didn't die in accident then she was abducted. And if she was abducted then the odds are something awful was done to her and she was murdered or something awful is still happening to her. Dying in an accident due to the benign neglect of her parents is a much, much better fate than that.

Tbh, I believe she was abducted and the theories that she died in an accident are at least partially wishful thinking. I don't honestly think the McCanns and all of their friends could have maintained a cover-up of that scale. I think that someone(s) saw how the children were left alone at night and took the opportunity to take her.

Either pick up a pitchfork and start detectiving or leave. This is no place for reason and evidence.

That has been my take on it and this was reinforced for me when the trained and highly respected sniffer dogs brought in smelled cadaver and blood scents in the apartment and the McCann's hire car. Dogs don't have an agenda and in every case those dogs were involved with before and after they were right on the money.

I find it incredibly suspicious that the press at the time did not choose to highlight this point a bit more. The facts of the case have never added up to me nor have the circumstances of the disappearance. The witness statements by friends of the McCanns had also changed a couple of times within realtively short spaces of time. I understand that it can be difficult to recall certain events but it always struck me as odd.

The positive identification of the cadaver dogs to the McCann's rental car reminds me of the not too dissimilar Casey Anthony case from 2008-2011 where a toddler was missing for 31 days before her duct-tape covered corpse was found. The mother initially claimed that a nanny had abducted her before that was proven to be false. She also lied about a number of things including her place of work and relationship with her parents. The mother's car boot also had duct-tape with the toddler's DNA on it and according to the a few people, smelt like it had had decomposing remains in it at some point. Most shocking to me of all was that Casey Anthony was found not guilty of first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child. She was found guilty of providing false information to law enforcement officials.

I don't believe the McCann parents are innocent in the Madeleine's disappearance and presumable death. Hopefully I'm wrong and they only thing they are guilty of is neglect but I'm very suspicious of both their behaviour and the investigation as a whole.

The abduction theory makes me always think why just Madeleine?

There were two other kids 18 months old in the same room. Just that for anyone who might be interested.

If it was a tragic accident

    a) Why the cover up?

    b) Why court so much publicity?

Unless by accident you mean they overdosed their daughter? Because that was a theory at the time, but that would be manslaughter at the least.
To keep themselves out of court, keep on working. Plus they have friends in high places that have prevented them from being taken to court.

To make themselves look innocent.better question would be why do the spend so much money sueing anyone that questions them, rather than use the money that was donated to find out what happened to their kid?.!
Like they said it was for.
Yet they spend most of the money on this bs, and spin doctors.

I agree with you to an extent but is there any parents that haven't made mistakes with their kids? Lets not forget tHat the real criminal here is the one who took her.

the mcanns will have to live with this for the rest of their lives and assuming they had nothing to do with it then they will suffer every day for their loss.

I hate even thinking about it and I have no connection to it.

I think leaving three children under the age of 4 alone in an unlocked apartment in a strange country while they went out is a lot more than a parent making a mistake with their children. It's an absolute disgrace that they were not prosecuted for putting their three children in such danger.

BULL****, they left her and her siblings in an unlocked apartment while they went for food an a big piss up. Paying the price my hole. They also said at one point that it was just the same as having a BBQ in your back garden, yet they were in a holiday resort... With 100s of other people in the area of the apartment. and they deem it OK to leave the kids alone and the doors unlocked. Yea that's the same thing.
Also how about them ringing the UK right after the so-called abduction happened?

Some very strange time lines to their story

Was it not proven she had cuts in that car at time of lease,

    Useless the Spanish cops
Could possibly stick the Portuguese police there to
Sure why are the met finding it hard to get a break through
    That's right

Cadaver dogs are just that, they will not respond to blood stains, they literally respond to death smells. Not cuts

Quick to shoot everybody else down
    I asked you a question
    Are you a detective?
    No I presume
So I suggest you go read that link to an article regarding a missing Irish teenager in Spain by an Irish detectives
Not some Portuguese detective or prosecutor who hampered an investigation by making them arguidos.

How two adult educated parents could walk out of an apartment and leave 3 babies alone and then actually sit down for food and drinks with friends is a complete mystery to me...like how could you actually do that? People use monitors in their own houses so how could they ever justify doing what they did?

Also I presume that lie detectors aren't used /accepted in actual crimes cases but I would be begging for one if I was in their shoes just to prove that I had nothing to do with the "disappearance".

So a poster on here thinks that a cut was reported in the car before she was "kidnapped"
Yet the car was hired after she went missing, and then trys to link it to an Irish case, Abe it in and very sad way. Yea. Go away.

Also have to take in to account that the resort have baby minding facilities. That they wouldn't pay for, makes you wonder even more

Good point and yes they possibly should have met a charge for neglect, but are they suffering so why sit a poly test
It seems jury's out before they sat with lots on here
It's hard for one person to keep a persona to actually catch two on the probability is much greater.
