One would have to question the professional integrity of the management and employees of boards.ie who thought that this was in any way ready to foster on their userbase. I am still shocked at how bad it is.

Horrendous. This has the potential to turn me away from boards. The old touch site was way better, way clearer. No matter what look I chose I'm looking at this fkn 'sponsored post' aka advertisement from laya. I'm a subscribed ( paid) user for years now but I won't be much longer.

Distilled media makes money, but Boards doesn't make money for them. Therefore they don't care about the userbase. Looks like this is a last attempt to do something with it. But it's all gone tits up!

Smash I am well aware of that. My question is how in the hell anyone who considers themselves a professional would be happy releasing such a flawed and buggy site into the wild. This smacks of a bad college project where the goal was just to scrape a pass.

They simply don't care about the site. Sure they launched a beta iOS app and it was a disaster. When bugs were raised the response was "we don't have an iOS device to test the issue" sorry, what????

New layout is pants; navigation is terrible; the amount of screen real-estate wasted is insane, did I mention navigation? More mouse movement required than for an FPS game. And the whiteness; jebus is it white ...

Also, thanks for forcing it on us overseas people. Much appreaciated to know that we rank somewhere less than "who the f*ck cares" on the radar.

I don't like that I cant see who thanked a post with a quick glance anymore, not so important on big forums like AH but for me it's essential to the smaller more intimate forums where you need to know the other users and their opinions much better

This is a bit reminiscent of last.fm. They replaced a dated but funcional site with a half finished beta missing half the features, despite overwhelmingly negative feedback to the beta in testing. The place is a ghost town now.

Has boards always operated without https or is it only since the new theme was implemented?

I know it's not that big a deal for a forum but it still seems poor form to not use it.

Uk here too. I have the legacy option (desktop); I suffered the beta layout for a bit and then just reverted for an easier, less snow-blind life. I'll find out tomorrow in work if I still have a legacy option as for the moment I'm not tempting fate.
