Sars in Riverstown or St Finbarrs in Togher would be the biggest ones I've seen, but neither are full size. Certainly a market for one, given the weather we've been experiencing.

much improved so far in the 2nd half. finally a ref that gives a few frees to visiting teams in Tralee or Killarney

You should go straight back up next year - wouldn't worry too much about Galway or Derry.

Regardless of whether any offence has been commited. Infuriating performance from Gough.

Yeah Galway, Derry, Down, Meath, Kildare, Fermanagh and Clare.

Should win out without a bother. Despite local rivalries I don't like seeing ye go down. I'd much prefer a trip to PuíR than Clones again.

Good clean game. One late hit from Fionn Fitz and the high elbow from Shields. Other then the it was good football, ruined by a fussy referee.

The footballers can't really have any complaints, they didn't really lay a glove on any of the top 4.

Maybe it will bring some reality to people in general in Cork about where the footballers are at, at the moment, i.e. not at the top table.

I don't think know there are too many people who think cork are at the top table after hidings from Kildare and Roscommon in the last 12 months.

l dunno, l know plenty of what l'd call casual Cork GAA fans who start to take notice of things when we're in a Munster semi or final who will tell you we are.
You know, "sure tis only the league like."

All those U21 wins over Kerry created a very unrealistic gauge of where we at and where we are going to be at for the next 3/4 Years.

hurlers 1 up at half time 14-13

Does this top 4 include mayo? does it include Dublin who we lost to by 4 points? cork are relegated on points difference because they got absolutely destroyed by Roscommon.
There is imo a top 2 in Ireland - Dublin & Kerry, mayo and Donegal who are on the same points as CORK are probably next but the rest including cork are very equal. Cork have a very good team potentially - all Ireland winners -NO, semi finalists - possibly.
Today was very poor, no getting away from that.

Footballers unluckily but deservedly go down. I think it will work in their favour next year. Another year like this league effort would not be good. Should gain back that winning feeling in the league next year. Enjoyable enough game, very poorly refereeing ruined it somewhat.

The hurlers had a very open game altogether. Way too loose for my liking. 4 in a row just before ht brought galway back into it, Cork up a point at ht.

We were 2 or 3 points down with 10 to go when Harnedy found the back of the net. 2 mins to go Cork find the net again , Horgan

    Super win

    Final score 2-22 v galway 0-25

hurlers survive, 2-22 to 0-24. goals from Harnedy and Horgan. hard on Galway given we lost our 5 games.

Hurlers pulled it out of the fire today. Sounded like a much better performance from Lehane and Horgan. Hopefully this will give Kingston the springboard for the season ahead.

Delighted the hurlers won, a massive win for them. To lose 6 on the spin and be relegated would have been a huge blow.

Having said that the relegation final is a stupid concept and doubtless Galway will fell hard done by in that sense but they were at home today so really can't complain about that.

A huge blow to Galway after the manager mallarkey.

Fair play to Harnedy and Lehane who stepped up to the mark big style today.

I actually agree with you, a good run in Div 2 might gain them some confidence and momentum next Year. They almost seemed to be going through the motions in Div 1 this season and lacked the confidence to beat the top teams. That Mayo win was early Days in the league and Mayo were missing key players on the Day, l wouldn't read much into it personally.

What is the thinking of playing colm o driscoll at "corner back".notsaying about that ability of the player but I cant see how this working

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,194 ✭✭✭lukin

Sickening to see the footballers relegated, especially by that crowd. They are already gloating about it on the Kerry thread.I see no benefit in playing division two next year.No big games against the likes of Dublin,Kerry,Mayo etc.Attendances will be pitiful too so the atmosphere at the games will be funeral-like.

great to break the losing run but listening on the radio they said the match was like a challenge game at times which always suits us. fast, loose and high scoring. 24 pts conceded is a continuation of a worrying trend

Ffs, he doesn't play corner back anymore he is simply named there, he operates around the middle. Full back line was Crowley - cadogan - hazel

yes, we're conceding massive scores constantly and are totally reliant on Horgan, Harnedy and Lehane up front but look it was nice to win the game all the same and l think staying up is better for that team.

Hence the inverted commas.Ok so what is the overall method of play or tactic.from that I take we operate a three man midfield or is it four if you include deane or is it 5 if you include sean kiely.plus you have brian driscoll and tom clancy soloing foward ,not alot of backs hanging around is there and not alot of fowards either.
