That's a dreadful decision to black card Coakley. The Monaghan player ran in to him. Where was he supposed to go ?

Looked to me like he was attempting to sidestep out of the way, terrible call by the ref

Cork 3 up with 10 to go

Cork are going to pay for those missed chances. Going for goal when the point is the clear option

Cork 4 up, 5 plus injury time to go. Cork giving the ref plenty chances to give soft frees.

3 up, into 3 min of added time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,354 ✭✭✭zetecescort

at last, a free to a Cork forward.

Monaghan have committed 3 cynical fouls on Cork players attacking the last 5 minutes - does the ref know what a black card offence is ?

Wel done Cork. Some very talented players in there.

yes, well done to all. 2-15 to 1-16. Michael Hurley Man of the Match

All Cork's scores were from play. That's some achievement.

Seemed to be a very decent game from what I saw from it. Once Cork recovered the deficit they were fairly in control, some of the forward play was great. Monaghan played some good football too but Cork seemed more dangerous up front.

easy when the ref gives nothing easy to any Cork forward unlike at the other end of the field!

That was a great win. Love watching tg4, great channel for sport. 2 super u21 games back to back, not a bad afternoons viewing.
It should be a cracker of a final. It would be a great achievement to win it.

    Watched the match on TG4.

An absolute breath of fresh air to watch. A load of high ball into the forwards. Forwards getting up for the high ball, catching and scoring. All of the 6 Cork forwards happy to take their scorers. None of this sacrificing a scoring forward for a playmaker bollox. A certain amount of hand passing but none of the tippy tappy passing forwards and backwards l'm used to seeing from Cork football teams for the last 20 Years.

Whether they won or lost l wouldn't have cared if they keep playing like that you'd have to support them regardless when you're watching that. Well done to the team and well done to the management team for playing football the way it should be played.

Yerman McGinn for Monaghan was absolutely brilliant, a superb player they have there.

Half time in the re-scheduled Ladies football at the new facilities in Abbottstown is Cork 1-11 Armagh 2-3. Cork need to win to progress to the league semifinals.

Cork 2-16 Armagh 4-7 fulltime. semifinal positons come down to scoring difference, conceding 4-7 wont do ours any good

Cork v Dublin, Armagh v Mayo - Kerry lose out because they lost to Armagh, despite being level on scoring difference.

Will take that after the upheaval at the start of the year - honestly didn't think they would get there tbh

Great news. That place is an absolute kip. I'd actually prefer going to Portlaoise instead even though it's a much farther journey.

Travel time to Portlaoise is shorter than travel time to Ennis.

Cusack Park.I don't mean the town of Ennis, that's grand, I just don't like the GAA grounds.Quite a few Clare people think the same so don't take offence.

From Cork city yes but not for me as I live in north-west Cork.Portlaoise is closer than Ennis to me by half an hour.
I'd still prefer the game was in Portlaoise however.

Cusack Park Ennis has recently had a minor face lift. However twitter might be better alternative to the old scoreboard that was missed in the upgrade. The surface is also in very good condition.

Good win for UCC last night. Missing a lot of Cork players, (u21s espeically) and others for various reasons, meaning 13 of the starting 15 were from Kerry.

People over on PROC tipping Imokilly for the county if they get their act together. They have a serious team on paper. Good backroom team as well. Ex cork player Derek Barrett coaching them.

Fair play to Seandun for coming so close considering they didn't train together prior to the match, UCC were & had a few challenges under their belt afaik
