Re Cork minor Hurlers, losers tonight play Tipp. Losers of that play losers of Limerick/Clare.

Imagine if Cork had 3 games to qualify for a Munster semi final. You'd have a fair idea of your best team. Winning tonight is arguably a poison chalice. I know you can't send a team out to lose but.........

In any event best of luck to all involved for the entire campaign!

It is the worst 'back door' system that the GAA have brought in. A championship with just 5 teams really shouldn't have a back door.

Cork 3-9 Kerry 1-14 after a thrilling finish

    Ha Ha, brilliant win.

Away to Kerry, winning Munster U21 title after Kerry with back to back All-Ireland minors.

That'll rightly sicken 'em and Jack O'Connor as well. :D

And we know a few of them do be snooping around in here to boot. Sorry about that lads. ;)

A great shot in the arm for cork football tonight!

    Delighted.

With a bit of luck this group of players could go all the way this year.

10 munster u21 football titles in last 13 years for Cork.

Good win for Cork, half expected they might pick up a result given that their squad seems fairly strong - FF line is particularly strong but some very strong players around the middle of the field

Kerry will have to build for next year but a huge amount of that team are underage next year again so hopefully they'll push on from this.

Tough Semi for Cork against Monaghan (correct me if I'm wrong) - but there's every chance they can go the distance with that panel imo. Well done to all involved & those who got to spectate last night

5 Munster senior titles for Kerry in last 6 years so the U21 dominance doesn't seem to be transferring.

All rivalries aside, this is an amazing story. Fair play to him, takes a big man to hit that shot considering his miss the year before.

Minor football result, Cork 1-14 Tipp 1-11

Good win but if you look at the fixtures here: http://munster.gaa.ie/fixtures/minor/ it's very likely that we will have to play Tipp again (probably in Thurles).Daft and totally unfair.

Daft beyond belief. Same thing happened in minor hurling last (Cork played limerick twice, the second time away as their reward for first round win).

Munster council changed the system this year so that counties this year couldn't meet again until Munster final. BUT ONLY FOR HURLING.
A lot of the time we succeed in the GAA in spite of ourselves!!

Best of luck to 21s at weekend, hopefully they can push on to the final - dont know a lot about Monaghan presume they will be tough enough
TG4 showing both semis so fair play to them

Not a bad few weeks all told between 21 and minor wins - again the minors need to make it count esp the hurlers - a glimmer of light is badly needed

Hurlers seem a very skillful hardworking side if not a little light, but with plenty of fellas prepared to take it on

Didnt see football but they got the result - despite allowing Tipp back into it so Tipp wont fear them if they meet again

Cork 1-3 Monaghan 1-5 after 18 min. Kelliher with a tap in but Monaghan got their goal immediately after.

after messing up a few goal chances Harkin gets our second. 2-6 to 1-6 after 23 min

Great game. Plenty of goals there for Cork , our height advantage in the FF line could win it for us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,354 ✭✭✭zetecescort

yeah, for an Ulster side we have cut them open a fair bit. surprisingly open game from both sides. Cork 1 up at Half time, 2-7 to 1-9

Forwards have been wasteful. Could be 3 or 4 more up. Monaghan forwards making the most off less possession up front.

Kelleher been quiet, 11 for Monaghan the standout player

Disappointed with Harkin, heard great things and despite awell taken goal he looks like a fella who has no interest in getting stuck in - as I say it he's after making a great catch

Powter has impressed for Cork, on the whole I think Corks full back line has been very solid
